2GB Dell New Certified Memory RAM Upgrade for Dell Inspiron Mini 1012 SNPTX760C/2G A3518854

Although I wasn't sure if this memory upgrade would work on my older Dell Inspiron Mini 10 I thought I would take a chance. I just installed it and it has greatly improved the performance of this netbook. To change the memory module you have to disassemble this machine all the way. There are a couple of great YouTube videos that take you step by step through the process. About the only tool you need is a small phillips screw driver.If you try this upgrade, keep track of where the screws go. I made a little note to go with the screws. There are several cables that need to be unplugged. Don't pull them by the wires! I used two small flat blade screw drivers to push them out from each side of the connector body.There are two flat ribbon cables, one for the mouse pad and one for the keyboard. Pay special attention on how these get unplugged. You don't just pull the ribbon out. The video will show how to unlock the cable.When installing the memory SIMM, be sure it is pushed all the way into it's socket and snapped down. There is a small notch in the SIMM. Make sure it is all the way into the socket before snapping the SIMM down.Once I got the unit back together it powered right up and ran without a hitch. It is much faster at booting up and loading programs.From turn on to Windows 7 icons on the screen took about 90 seconds. Starting Google Chrome took about 30 seconds. Data on each website is updating much faster. Before the update, I was ready to retire this computer. Now I will be using it much more.

I have a Dell MIni 1012 that I still use for some things. his ram was inexpensive, from Dell and needed no setup. I found an online Youtube Video so I didn't even have to look for it. Took less than 5 minutes to install. I would recommend looking at the video if you don't really know where the ram is as it was step by step and cautioned about potential areas you could damage. BTW it is below the keyboard, not where I would have expected.

I recently purchased memory through Amazon for my Dell Mini model 1012. There were no instructions with the memory module outlining how the Dell model 1012 is to be disassembled to install the memory module. A quick check of the internet solved that with an excellent video demonstration of how the small Dell Mini comes apart and the memory is installed.I was disappointed to see the new 2 gig memory module was DOA (Dead on Arrival). Following the installation the computer would not boot up with a viewable screen. The failure seemed to occur when the BIOS boot portion of the initialization tried to access the memory module. Re-installing the old memory brought the computer back to life.I repeated the installation a couple of times with the video running just to make sure I had correctly followed the directions with the same failure to boot experienced after the first memory install. The Dell Mini 1012 is currently running on the old 1 gig memory module and I am not sure how to get a replacement module from Amazon or the secondary supplier that actually shipped the memory to me.I am very disappointed with this and will deal with Dell directly in the future.Roland [email protected], Texas 77084

I always find it a bit hard to review something like a RAM card. There really is much to make it stand out so long as it functions. That said...it fit, it worked, and it did speed things up. It was delivered faster than I expected and it was surprisingly easy to install even for a novice like me. Unfortunately my son managed to kill the netbook shortly afterward by dropping it so I can't say anything about longevity.

Fast and simple installation. Took just a couple minutes from start to finish. Wow! I wish I'd bought this years ago. Very noticeable performance improvement! Yes, it's a dinosaur compared to my newer tablets and laptops but I've always loved my Dell 1012 and now I'll be keeping it around for a while longer.

Installed in my Dell Mini, the Atom processor is restricted to 2GB, this doubled the speed of the computer. Installed and tested, works perfectly.

I had a very hard time getting this SIMM to work in my computer, so I called the sellers and they took a long and very patient time helping me to get it installed properly—on a Sunday! I couldn’t ask for more. We got it to work and I’m very happy with the purchase and especially the service.

This was just what I needed to for my Dell Inspiron Mini 1012. I've had this netbook for about 5 years and I've hardly used it because it was just painfully slow. Upgrading from the installed Windows 7 Starter to Windows 10 helped somewhat, but changing the RAM from the installed 1GB to 2GB made all the difference in the world. This netbook now runs like a normal, regular laptop. I can actually multi task, I can have more than one program running at a time. Before installing this upgrade, just running one program was nearly impossible. It's no high power gaming rig, but for everyday use, it does just fine. Memory arrived quickly and was well packaged. It's an exact fit for Inspiron Mini and it runs Chromium very well now.

It is fast and fully compatible with the laptop and does the job perfectly. no problem so far. I like it.
