Osprey Mutant 38 Mountaineering Pack

This is a true pack the 38 fits everything I need for a long or overnight hike. I am not mountaineering any time soon but how light and comfortable this pack is I recommend it for any outdoor activities.

Love this pack! Works flawlessly, Is light, looks great, has all of the features I need for a day of climbing or mountaineering.

I wanted a mid-sized pack that was light weight and comfortable. This pack is perfectly sized for a long day and has plenty of straps to cinch down gear. The only downside is that this is a top loading pack so it can be difficult to get things out of the bottom without emptying everything out. Side zippers have ruined me.

I really like this pack but after my first time using it I found the helmet net a nuisance, and after multiple days on Mont Blanc still wasn't sure where the front clips attached. They seem to nicely placed attachment loops at the back but as far as I could work out it just clipped to the edge of the top opening section on the front but maybe not. It should be obvious but it's not.

Ho diversi zaini, ne volevo uno da dedicare all'arrampicata ed alle ferrate. Questo zaino è di ottima fattura, modulare, molto aderente alla schiena. Unica pecca forse è che, se usato come zaino da tutti i giorni o per normali passeggiate in montagna, l'aderenza dello schienale ne limita molto la traspirazione e sulla schiena si suda prima che con altri zaini specifici per l'escursionismo. Ho 40 anni e sono cresciuto imparando a portarmi maglietta e calze di ricambio per cui per me non è un problema.

L'Osprey Mutant 38 è un ottimo zaino da montagna: comodissimo, robusto e pieno di soluzioni intelligenti. Il Mutant ha un porta casco, una fettuccia porta corda e delle fettucce per comprimere il carico, due porta picozze e due anelli portamateriale sul cinturone. Si può rimuovere la tasca superiore (si perde la tasca dedicata ai piccoli oggetti) e utilizzare la "flapjacket" per chiudere comunque lo zaino. Attenzione però ai dettagli: il primo esemplare che ho comprato aveva delle cuciture fuori posto ed era assemblato in malo modo (ultime due foto) - gli spallacci erano cuciti storti. In generale la fattura non è eccellente, quindi fate attenzione alle cuciture "funzionali", soprattutto degli spallacci e del cinturone.
