Valeo Adjustable Ankle/Wrist Weights

I've had these weights for only a couple of months and the stitching has come undone. Additionally, the metal part of the strap rubs up against my skin causing blisters. It would be most effective to remove the metal portion in its entirety and just allow the weights to wrap around the ankle.I would recommend purchasing another product.

These are not well designed: the metal clips rub directly on the ankles when working out- there is no padding in between the metal clip where it touches the leg. Even wearing socks does not stop the uncomfortable rubbing which led to being pinched and chafed . The designer clearly is not someone who works out.

UPDATE: The Velcro quality here is very low. I notice that after the plastic barbs on the "hook" side began to fall out shortly after use. These weights are nearly useless now as a result.I got more than 4 years of use out of my first set of these, which were the polder design that apparently used superior Velcro. That Velcro in those seemed nee after hundreds of uses. (I've downgraded my original review from 3 stars to two because of this.) Similarly, the Velcro on my weight belt and weight gloves looks new after many years of use (4 times per week)!My original review.I have very muscular thighs, yet these only fit correctly for me in their tightest possibly setting. While that's "fine" for me, these simply won't fit tightly on most people who are remotely in shape. (I've been working out continuously since the spring of 1983.)Also, the weights here are sand packs. While that's fine in theory, the realty is very think bags that won't stand the test of time. Advice: Remove the bags, package then in a heavy duty sandwich bag, tape the top and bottom crease, and then reinsert.On the positive side, the steel D rings are an improvement over the previous square shaped plastic rings. Additionally, this newer model is more comfortable to wear, and is shorter in height. That results in a longer wearable moment arm, which equates to more exerted force and a better workout. (I am also a mechanical design engineer.)

I like those good, durable weights. The fabric containing small sand bags is very strong. However, I have to replace my previous weight in less than 6 months due to strips destruction and separation of Velcro fabric from strip fabric.Also, the picture on the main page is wrong - the weights have two belts, not one and buckles are D-rings, not the rectangular rings.The semi-circular D-rings don't work well. They crumple the weight's strips when you tighten them up. After few months they are completely destroyed - Velcro fabric gets separated from the strip and Velcro miniature hooks got broken and spilled around the weights.This is the main drawback of the design - the rings should be rectangular, not D-rings (semicircular).I replaced by myself the original D-rings with rectangular ones and it buckles started to work very well.This is what I advise people to do.Good thing is the the weight are not leaking the sand, because the sand stored in the sealed plastic bags.

This product is an overall decent product, it gets the job done. But i suggest a few things to make them a little more comfortable. The product has 5 separate two pound sand bags encased in a thick enough plastic. In five separate slots on the weight sand bags slide in, then Velcro in. They are not as difficult to get in and out as others have said. all you have to do is get them flat put the bottom edge in, while holding vertical shake the weight in. As if you were shaking a pillow into a pillow case. Another suggestion i do have is that when you have them on the sand likes to fill the bottom of the plastic making them feel tight on the bottom and loose on the top. this is also easily corrected. Take the weights out then flatten on table to get sand even. Then through the middle, horizontally, tape a piece of electrical tape roughly one time around so it pinches both sides of the plastic inwards(Not too much or you'll make it difficult on yourself putting the weights back in the slots). Will make a shape somewhat like a bow tie. Now return the weight to its slot. the sand will now have less room to move while exercising, making a more comfortable snug fit.

It works great for the reason I bought it: adjustable weights. The reason it is not 5 star is because:1. The weights are like sand in plastic bags, so I'm nervous that they could puncture.2. If you don't use all of the weights the fit can be weird as it leave a lot of material to wrap around your leg. I assume that once I use more weight the fit will be better, but right now it's loose.

My husband ordered these for his workouts and he loves them. They're used mostly for ab work (leg raises) but he puts them on at the beginning of the workouts and then does his ab stuff at the end of his workouts.He's able to tighten them around his ankles by by-passing the first set of D-rings and putting the velcro straps through the second set of D-rings, and having the first set slide under the overlap. He also folds under the excess at the other end (the end with the velcro strap).He also put a strip of duct tape on both ends and both sides of each sand bag to hopefully help prevent any of the bags tearing and losing the sand. This also helps in sliding in and sliding out the sand bags from their slots when he wants to change the weights.

Item arrived used, advertised as new. Contained human hair, dog hair and carpet fibers in the velcro portions. Returning to Amazon.Threads from either the fabric or the stitching are fraying. This pockets cannot hold together for long if either is the case.I can't comment on the item other than the individual "weights" are pellets that are contained in incredibly flimsy type of plastic bags. It seems highly unlikely that these will not leak pellets out in short time.Poor quality, I expected more from Valeo as they do make other products that are solid. It has obviously been farmed out to the cheapest bidder with little or no quality control in manufacturing.

Love being able to keep at full weight or take out bags to lighten up. The double locking straps are nice!

The Velcro is tearing apart after 2 month. Cheap quality don’t buy those.

I got them when you said I would ! Much needed for health reasons.

I received 2 nice new pairs of workout gloves which I don't want and will never wear. What I haven't received are ankle weights.

I'm looking for a new pair now where the metal buckle doesn't rub against the skin. I have an average ankle size and the length of the fabric that could cover the ankle is too...

Bought these for my son in law who is like 6'1, 250ish pounds. It's absolutely hilarious watching my own son who is 6'2", 145 pounds try to walk around in these.

Excellent leg weights.

This product isn't made to fit right. It rubs blisters on your ankles. I would have returned it. But, my dog shredded the box in pieces..sorry, just being honest
