Hello, Jared, I can appreciate your concern. Just checked the label and it does cite "vegetable source". I agree with Marcy Kobb that you ought to contact Jarrow @ www.jarrrow.com, to be sure. I do believe this brand to be reliable and effective, based on direct experience with this and several other products. You might also look into Pure brand Hyaluronic Acid.
