In marketing departments they try to put the things in a such way they look very powerful. 180 w max is way high power for one speaker. It seems to refer to the sum of the max power of 4 speakers. 180W divided by 4 gives you 45 max per speaker wich is not bad but the number you need to keep in mind is the RMS per speaker, that is the number that a speaker can keep handing for long periods of time delivering good quality of sound. If each speaker delivers 45, it means that deliver 30 RMS per speaker wihich is pretty standard. I bough JBL 5.25 that handle 40 RMS per speaker that is pretty loud for me but if you really want power speaker look for 40 RMS per speaker or 40RMS X 4. Also keep in mind that a good stereo delivers 22 RMS per speaker that is pretty loud. If you want to squeze all the power of these speakers you need a good stereo and an amp they will deliver very very loud speakers.
