You need this. Really good performance.
It's heavy (that's good) and consistent. Diamond coating on the side of wheel is extremely useful. Good balance, runs true. When it's brand new you'll want to break it in on test pieces (old chisels, etc.). The diamonds will "break in" with about 30 minutes or so of grinding. It's very important that you use light pressure - DO NOT push hard on the Tormek Diamond wheels. You don't need to if you're using the right grit - and with the ease of changing wheels - it's a no brainer. Use with water bath to avoid airborne metal particulate (your lungs will thank you). Worth the investment. I think I have just about every Tormek wheel they make, and the DF-250 is my go-to wheel. Great purchase/investment.

Got it fast and for a good price
Got the 600 Grit Tormek Diamond Wheel fast and for a reasonable price but have not opened the package or tried it out yet.

Very good, should have grit on inside edge
Very good to use, would work better with grit on left edge to help with finishing the handle end of left edge of knives and other handled tools.

Never going back to the wet stone
The Diamond wheels sharpen faster and cleaner than the original water stone wheel. The extra fine diamond puts a mirror finish on all my turning tools as well as kitchen knives. Only thing I did wrong is not get the course grit wheel for reshaping. The fine and the extra fine are great for general sharpening existing edges.

This product has no life on it after 150 knives compared to over 2000 on the regular 250 grit wheel.
This product has no life on it after 150 knives compared to over 2000 on the regular 250 grit wheel. Everything was fine until it just stopped doing anything to the knives. I am a professional knife sharpener and feel this product not only a waste of money but shouldn't even be on the market. I have been trying to get my money back from Amazon and no response. I bought one about a year ago and returned it unused because I couldn't get some questions answered by email from the seller and then was charged $100 restocking fee. I know people get busy but the service and fee didn't go over very well with me,.
