The first time I used it, I was so happy I believed I own this little guy some appreciation.The wire stripping task was always a nightmare to me, as the other brandname cutter (not stripper) always takes away one or two little copper wires when I yanked the jacket out. I am pretty sure it's my fault, because I am not a professional electronic technician, not even close. But I can perform some simple, low level tasks, such as speaker wire making. For an audio addict, it's a pain to see your speaker wire is less than perfect to transfer the signal.This wire stripper cuts and removes the jacket perfectly, and for now, that's all I need. You put the wire in, squeeze the handle, and watch the jacket removed magically without feeling any pain in the heart. I usually check to see if any copper bit was removed. None. Clean as a whistle. It looks dark and ugly, even by my standard, but it does the job precisely and loyally and yet to ask for a raise.I got this thing for just a little more than a big Mac meal cost. It's already paid for itself. Well actually it's still there beside me with every wire-stripping task. The big Mac is gone :-)

We just bought a new house and it's a lot of work to get it all redone. Due to a small budget we try to diy. We have to reinstall a lot of cables in various sizes, electric and media cables. I ordered this tool after watching an diy video and so glad I did. I had the typical wire strippers, but its takes a bit of strength for me as a woman. This new kind of wire stripers make it so easy!! I added a picture from a semi stripped and a full stripped cable. No damage at all! So glad that I found this on Amazon, after watching the video!

I got this tool because I needed a wire stripper for my copper cable that I need for the sound system I was working on. I didn't want 3 different tools to crimp, cut, and strip wires, so I decided to buy this tool. When unwrapping the product, I was afraid of damaging the wire, but the tool did everything for me. All I had to do was place it in the claw and squeeze the handles! I'm new to all of this and it was so simple that even a newbie, like myself, was comfortable with using multiple times!It has a very nice build and really good feel with the rubber grips. I felt comfortable using it the entire time and I did not hold back using it again and again. A very nice product, and it will save you from buying a wire cutter, stripper and a crimper when it does all of that in one!

I purchased this especially because I need to strip higher gauge wire not usually supported on a typical wire stripper and for example, I need to install network cable ends on cat-5 and cat-6 wiring. I've always had problems stripping off the outside sheath on cat-5 and cat-6 cable. I was always damaging the inner high gauge wires. I liked the idea of this tool being self-adjusting which would solve this issue and others.The challenge with this tool was it really did not come with any instructions. What did come with it was sort of a picture diagram with the different parts labeled but no 'how to use it' part. I was able to look it up on the manufacturer's web site, also not great for specific instruction but more diagrams. I was finally able to get it figured out. I guess you're supposed to know how to use this type of wire stripper tool before you purchase it.It does provide a very clean strip with no damage to the internal wires so it works well and serves my needs.

Update: having used these for some time now, I have experienced the occasional wire that persistently slips from the holding jaws. Doesn't happen often, but super annoying when it does because I don't want to carry a separate tool just for the tough wires. Downgrade to 3 stars. I'm not really knocking this brand itself, because others including Irwin have the same problem mentioned in reviews........................................................Be aware my review is based on my experience with 16g and under wire, especially 18g and under. I understand some negative reviews are based on larger wires and that may be true. But for me it's one of those things I cannot go back from. Makes stripping wires so easy, and multiple at a time even better. Not more cut strands or pulling off melted plastic with my fingertips lol (I'm old school Bic lighter method). Especially fantastik is pulling off the outer casing without damage to the internal insulated wires. Only con is the slightly large and awkward size that doesn't fit well into my field bag. But for $12? All day!Looks identical to the Blue brand, I imagine they are made on the same assembly line. I don't mind paying extra to support local stores, but I had no idea if this type of tool would make it to my tool bag or the trash. So the price, especially with a $5 coupon, was encouraging enough to give it a try.

You would think that everyone who’s on Amazon buying anything that’s not cat related or a video game must be some huge engineer nerd the way that reviews tears apart all of these low cost/high value tools!At first this tool appears very complicated and overwhelming to use but this isn’t the 90’s, search for a video of how to use the dang thing and once you see its simple and elegant operation it quickly becomes the greatest tool in your toolbox.I wish I had more wires to strip and have refused to moonlight as a moyle despite my college buddies persistence and colorful ways to sell me on the idea.Have fully jacketed wires? Want them to strip quicker than a coal miners offspring every time the mine falsely is claimed “dead”? Buy these. Watch a how to video, then strip baby, strip.

Wow extremely disappointed!!! I hate bashing any product but these wire strippers are not worth spending $5 on. I would send them back but the hassle just isn't worth it. Take my advice and spend the extra $10 for a brand name. If you like to spend money and waste time buy these like me. Then the day they arrived after using them get back on Amazon and buy another pair. Tried saving a few dollars but no so much. They do crimp and cut well, 2 out of 3 but the 3rd is what I needed most of all. They also did well stripping a few dollars away, hahaha.
