It's a dud.
Advertised as new, it arrived in a smudged and cracked CD case, and could not be read by any of my PCs or laptops (MS XP and later). A messy, time-wasting, money-wasting, matter. It is a copy, not an original, so it cannot be new, anyway.

Adobe CS2
This is the single greatest photo editing software suite that you will find. Dont get me wrong, by no means is it the easiest program to use, and it eats up processing power, but when you see the finished results... you'll understand.Another problem is the hefty pricetag. But quality costs, and boy is this quality.If you want a program to create pictures from scratch (e.g. with a graphic tablet) I suggest a different program, or you just get really good with this.Anyway, if you're SERIOUSLY into photo editing, this program is a must. But if you're that serious, you'll already have this program.

Do not upgrade, stick with your old version
We purchased this for our company and were really disappointed. We have been using Photoshop and Illustrator for years in other companies.We found CS2 would not start properly, not load files and crash on the four machines we tested it on. We spoke to Adobe and they say "they do not support their products".Do not buy CS2, use previous versions and save yourself some money. Google for CS2 problems and you will get a taste.
