Ultra Bright LED Illuminated Portable Handheld Magnifier with 4x Bifocal Lens-Large Viewing Area,

This is an update on a prior review. I purchased one of these baseed on reviews. I have Macular Degeneration and was excited at the possibility of having a convenient, lighted, magnifier. The first one I received did not light, so the company sent me new batteries, assuming the batteries were the problem. After approximately two weeks, I received the replacement batteries, the lights did not work, so the company sent me a new magnifier and told me to keep the defective one. Great? Not so! The replacement worked great for about one week. In the beginning, the lights did not stay lit for longer than 10 minutes at a time and they finally just stopped working. I've considered replacing the batteries, but cannot find in the product description what size battery to buy. I know, just take the old batteries to find proper size. I did that and the replacement batteries cost around $10 for 3 and the magnifier requires 4. So do the math - over $10 to replace batteries that work less than a month? I don't think so. I know have 2 of these & keep one in my kitchen and one on my end table so I do use them, BUT, they do not perform as described because the lights do not work - at least not on either of mine. You can probably purchase a regular manfifying glass for less money.

This is a great magnifier, to help with the reading of small print. What I especially like about this handheld magnifier, is the fact that there are 4 small LED lights, that give every angle a perfect view. As a bonus, there is an area that zooms in even closer, to help clarify words or pictures. This device is sent with a sleeve, perfect to keep the lens clean and scratch free. Perfect for a pocket or purse. I gave one to a family member for Christmas a few years ago & she raved about it so, that a friend of hers, ended up with 6! Now, I finally have my own and it is perfect for my needs. It appears durable, yet light weight and I would imagine that I will get many years of good use out of this!You can't go wrong with this item, in my opinion.

Product as described. It is plastic and light weight. I think that is both good and bad. You cannot just slide it on the page. You have to hold it 6-8 inches over the page. The magnification is great there, but you have to move it left and right while reading. So, it's not as relaxing as I had hoped for for reading books.Item arrived very late. Shipping took two weeks and exceeded even the latest date estimate by 4 days. Tracking never updated from day 1 and I thought it was lost.

The magnifier is great but the device needs a solid cover or sleeve over the activation button, otherwise it may inadvertently be pressed & draining the battery. Batteries can only be bought in specialty battery shops.

I guess I’m not going to give it a poor rating , it looks great and the magnifier works well , but the light doesn’t work , I did send an e-mail to customer service and they are sending me new batteries , I hope that will solve the light problem

I use this mostly to read menus and small print when I am away from home. Usually lighting is dim, and I need a lot of light to see well This magnifier is small and light, while having an excellent lens and powerful LED lights. You won't be disappointed.

This product was fine once I replaced the dead batteries it came with.

I dropped the magnifier and now the light does not come on.
