Kenwood DDX8905S 6.95" WVGA double-DIN Multimedia DVD Receiver

I am very happy with this head unit. The install was complex but entirely feasible by a home diy-er. All features work as intended. Sound quality is great and works well with my OEM amp and speakers. My vehicle is too lod to make use of the idatalink OEM integration features.The biggest area of improvement is the Kenwood weblink functionality. First, WAZE app no longer supports the weblink interface so it is no longer available under the weblink menu. Second, the app selections under weblink is very limited and redundant with whats available under AndroidAuto. Initial setup of weblink software was somewhat flaky, not working at first, but spontaneously working on its own after a day or two. The youtube app under weblink is the only unique offering that is not supported under androidauto. Again, initially the videos would not play but started working spontaneously after a day or two. Overall, weblink really does not offer enough functionality to use it over the androidauto software. What would be nice is if weblink offered an app that offered the capability of importing standard apps not yet supported under androidauto or simply offered a native android "desktop" allowing installation of 3rd party android apps. If you are buying this headunit for weblink functionality, you will probably be disappointed in the long run. AndroidAuto and CarPlay offer more functions and will likely be better maintained over time.Buying this headunit was a great value over the similar but more current DDX8906s model.

I installed this in a 2000 Crown Victoria and I am extremely pleased. It was easy to install. The sound quality is amazing. The device is easy to use. It is far superior to the factory device in my newer cars. I plan to replace the existing device in each of my other cars with this.

Works so far and an upgrade form the last Kenwood! Good product! Came earlier than expected which was great as well!

I have a 2007 Toyota Tundra and I’ve had this unit for about 6 months...A definite upgrade from my original unit...Awesome sound, connectivity to my phone with Bluetooth and usb...Picture for the DVD’s is great as well...

Works perfectly in my 2003 Hyundai Tiburon no problems with installing whatsoever

This stereo is awesome. Made my stock speakers sound amazing.

There is a buzzing sound at low level. I think there is an electrical interference causing this problem (possibly the AC compressor). Unit was installed by a professional Kenwood dealer. I generally listen at a higher level so it is not a big deal from me.Great sound quality. Enjoying all the options. I did extensive research before purchasing this item so I sort of knew what to expect. DVD feature is great. Others can watch movies, concerts etc. while the driver is safely operating the vehicle.

Very awesome radio I've always liked Kenwood and this radio has not changed my opinion very good sound quality very clean look when installed in the vehicle very good LED screen very responsive overall I give it a five star rating
