I often tell grandkids that I'll be with them in "just a minute". Though 4- and 5-year olds have no concept of "just a minute" now they flip the timer and let me know when time is up! They are homeschooled and I teach them science. They insist the times set out all the time and they'll chose the one that best fits the situation without my prompting. They LOVE these!! The timers allow them to see what a 15-minute break or a 30minute playtime means. The product is very sturdy and "glass" is strong plastic. Kids can't break unless they really try!

Not intended to be used to keep time. The estimates of how many minutes each one lasts are not even close. They are what they are intended to be though. A toy that sand goes through as expected. Just a lot faster than times shown on the items.
