Hobart245924 Replacement Gun for Handler 140 and Handler 187 Wire Welders

Like the torch. The only issue with this unit is that the button is large and in tight places it is hard to keep from hitting it when positioning yourself. I have a Hobart 135 and if you have one of these units you take the ergonomics of the original torch for granted........ until it fails and you have to replace it.

High quality workmanship, exceeds standards of older miller gun that was supplied with welder, the price is fantastic, Hobart really set the standard with the new gun design, I recommend it hands down to anyone that wants quality to do the job right the first time.As for Amazon ordering was a breeze and price was unbeatable. I ordered this item to replace a broken MIG gun on my Hobart Handler 140 unit. The item in the photo shows a Hobart gun with the 2 wire connector with spade terminals. The item I received is not a Hobart gun and has a screw on terminal connector. I am returning this item and replacing it with a genuine part from a genuine parts supplier. I have emailed the seller and will update this review based on this experience.

update: I been through the ringer with these after installing my fourth gun in 7 years. My Handler 187 is a good machine but there is definitely a design flaw with these guns. Normally they only last a couple years at best. This last gun only lasted a few months and on a much lighter welding schedule this time around. Here's what happens to them. After a while they will start throwing porosity and it will drive you nuts to say the least because its a real PIA to fix. The only thing that will fix porosity is welding over it with flux core wire. So I had no choice but to replace my welder with a different brand until I figure this out - I was at my local welding supply shop and I asked him if he could offer me any options to try a better gun on my Hobart machine. He says give me a minute and comes back with a gorgeous looking made in the USA gun from PROFAX out of Texas and says take this home and try this one out which I did and discovered that my suspicions were correct - it was in fact the new Hobart gun and not the welder like Hobart service was trying to claim. I knew it wasn't the welder itself because the problem was position sensitive just like all the other replacement guns were but at the same time it was hard to accept that those Miller and Hobart guns could be such utter junk. The PROFAX guns are made very similar to the Lincoln design. If you have a Miller or Hobart welder do yourself a favor and try a Profax gun on it. Granted it will take time to prove how long I will get out of the Profax but one thing is for sure - I have zero confidence in Miller/Hobart OEM garbage guns but I do still feel that the machines are good.

My husband was completely satisfied with the replacement gun. The price was well below what we could order one from Hobart, and the new one was made better than the original.

Better than original. Feels better in my hand and appears to be more robust.
