Q: what is the thickness of this tape? Looking for 2-3 mil

the thickness is about 0.3mm, same as the thickness of 2 papers.

Q: How well does this tape stick under cold, wet, and snowy conditions?

Can't speak for cold, I didn't have it last winter. After a couple of months of summer, though, the adhesive around the edges had turned grainy and started to peel off, which then allowed grit and water to get in bit by bit and loosen; I'm not sure if it was the heat or the light. It's about equal in time and effect to what you happens if you don't round the corners.

Q: has anyone used a sewing machine to attach it? how was the needle penetration?

it is self-adhesive reflective tape, you don't need to use sewing machine. you just need to tear away the adhesive paper, and stick on. After stick on a clothing, you can also use sewing machine.

Q: Is it thin? Will it work good for my fishing pole?

yes, very thin. 0.5mm, and soft. it will work good for a fishing pole.
