Delicious
This fruitcake is a longtime family favorite since before 1959. We love the flavor, plentiful nuts and dried fruits, taste is always DELICIOUS! Last year bought 3, left individually packaged, and wrapped in aluminum foil. Opened last of three in May 1924, 6 months later and tasted just like purchased in December 1923, freshness and appearance as when original purchase. Thank you

This is the right stuff!
These are genuine fruitcakes with lots of fruit as opposed to many other brands on the market. We've tried several others, always come back to these!

VERY GOOD FRUIT CAKE; COMES VERY CLOSE TO JANE PARKER'S; HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
I bought this fruit cake for my 82-year-old mother who was craving it. Actually, she was craving Jane Parker Fruit Cake because that is what she had eaten since she was a little girl. I spent quite a bit of time searching for a fruit cake that looked like the Jane Parker fruit cake, and I spent a lot of time reading reviews and hoping one said, "This fruit cake tastes exactly like the Jane Parker fruit cakes!" Unfortunately, I didn't find any, but no worries because this fruit cake came relatively close. I'm not really a "Fruit Cake Expert" although I have been called a "Fruit Cake" before. :-) But if I used a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the best, I would give Jane Parker Fruit Cake a 10, and this fruit cake (Claxton) an 8.5. That's pretty damn good as far as I'm concerned! The only problem I had with this fruit cake was that there were too many dark things in it—either raisins or figs or dates. That's just my preference, though: Someone else may enjoy them. I, on the other hand, would have liked to have seen more candied fruit (cherries, pineapple). Again, that's just my preference. I've spoken very highly of Jane Parker Fruit Cake; unfortunately, I don't believe it's available anymore. Since that's the case, this Claxton Fruitcake will be my first choice from now on. I recommend this product. My mom and I enjoyed it and we think you will too! We'll definitely be buying it again!

A treat, no matter what people say about fruitcake.
I was on line during the holidays seeing people diss fruitcake daily. I had to get some fruitcake because of this. Okay, I'm weird. I saw these and the reviews were good and I got them. Yummy is all I can say. I think fruitcake is wrongly maligned.

Very tasty
These are very nice fruitcakes. I searched around to get the best price on Amazon. Look at the per ounce price when you search.

Bargain price but doesn't taste like it
I'm one of those odd ones who really loves fruitcake, the more moist the better. I've had some that are more dry cake than fruit, and some that were mostly fruit, and therefore too rich and sweet. To me, this has the perfect balance. The first time I bought this brand, I thought I'd see how a 'budget' cake compared to some of the more expensive ones I'd had. I liked the individual one-pound loaves, so only a little had to be unwrapped at a time. At first, I thought the cake was a little dry, but adding a few spoonfuls of rum or whiskey, and keeping it cold in the fridge, did the trick. The last two times I've ordered, it seems they have been more moist, so perhaps the first batch was a bit stale. Since then, I've felt confident to give a loaf to another fruitcake lover, which I wouldn't do if the product was only so-so, and needed doctoring. I still add the booze, cuz it makes it that much better!
