Strong motor. Noise will always be an issue with fans but I think this is fine compared to other fans I've had. It has 3 levels; the slowest one is still strong and it is OK from a noise stand point. Medium and high are louder but you'll only use those when your steak is on the grill for a few minutes. Construction is clean. Edges are fine.I'm giving it 4 stars and not 5 for 2 reasons. When it arrived, the box was kind of clunky in that you could hear things move inside before opening it. I would add foam to avoid damage during transportation and to reassure people that this isn't an open item. Another area with room for improvement is the sticky plastic film that protects the stainless steel. My fan had that film in some areas inside the actual hood and it took some time (and a screw driver) to remove it.

We have had this hood installed in our kitchen for 7 years. Very happy with it overall. There have been 2 issues so far. The first is when we bought it. They send us the wrong one (it had holes drilled in the sides). To replace it we needed to drive an hour each way to get a replacement. That was the only way we could get the right one in time for our kitchen install. Now after 7 years one of the motors broke. We use the hood probably 3 times per week so this is probably chalked up to wear and tear. Very interested in seeing how long it takes to get a new motor.
