Well worth it IMHO!
When you're backpacking it's easy to collect lots of gear that individually doesn't weigh much but collectively ends up weighing too much. If you're looking for something to keep your butt off the wet rocks/logs/ground, in my estimation this is worth the weight "sacrifice". Tip: Be careful if you strap it outside your pack though; it's so light that if it falls off you likely won't notice until it's too late. I think this will now be part of my permanent gear; I'm very happy with it.

Very useful
I was a bit skeptical about this pad - when would I use it? But it comes highly recommended so I tried it out. It's awesome! I took it on a three day rafting trip last weekend and used it all the time. It's a great kneeling pad when packing gear or cooking at a picnic table, it kept my butt dry after our folding chairs got wet, and it worked as a perfect seating pad on the raft itself! This lil' pad is now on my camping essentials list.

Great sit pad
Great sit pad. At 2oz it very light and still comfortable. Stores easy in the side pocket or on top of my pack.

Never knew I needed it
Weighs very little. Keeps your butt warm, even on packed snow. Great as a kneeling "chore pad" while you cook or chop kindling. Smaller than I expected, but big enough to do the job. This might work as a ground pad for a 20 pound dog, but it's definitely too small for my 45 pound mutt.

Sturdy, light seat that's just as warm as the aluminized version
I sat on a thin metal stool one chilly night with one buttcheek on the aluminized version of this seat and one cheek on the unaluminized version (this one) for 10 minutes and measured both my butt as well as the seats surface temp with an inferred thermometer multiple times. The readings did not have a consistent or significant difference. Great for backpacking, picinc benches, aluminum bleachers or anywhere your butt may roam.

Versatile and light
This thing is small, light and has many uses. Great for sitting in snow, on cold rocks or logs. Use it to kneel on to cook or start a fire. A dry place to set your pack down. At night I throw it on the ground outside the door of my tent and it gives me dry clean space to kneel or stand and put on/take off shoes. Makes getting in the tent without dragging dirt in with you much easier. I stuff it in a side pocket in my pack so it's handy to pull out anytime I take a break. This always comes with me.

So far so good, I love using it
So far so good, I love using it. Not sure how long it will last, but I expect to get a couple years out of it. The bungee is useless, I never use it as it's too tight and starts to damage the pad when I try to put it on. The originals never came with the bungee and I don't miss not being able to use it as I just put it into one of the water bottle holders on my packs.

I absolutely love this item
I absolutely love this item! I have already used this on the trail once or twice and can honestly say the difference is amazing. Usually I would have to sit on a rock or on the dirt (not that it was a problem to begin with) but now that I have this, I can definitely say it is always on my canoe pack/trekking pack.
