I had that issue because I was hitting the first green button at the top left...but that's for the second sim card. The green button below the arrow sign is for sim card 1 and it has a 1 on it...dial your number then hit the green button with 1 on it and it will work

how do you setthe language on the phone it is in chinese

There is a settings function on the menu. My came in english. Just cant turn of the annoying music when is turned on
