Very strong!
If you take the magnet and invert it in the channel cup (so that the beveled holes are going the "wrong way"), it become more suitable for teaming up with an unmodified instance -- the two end-to-end form a single magnetic domain.BUT, be careful! With the above configuration, if you get the two magnet assemblies face-to-face, they will take extraordinary strength to separate them again without damage. I had to take the face-to-face coupled pair to my weight-lifter son to get them separated, and he was surprised at how difficult it was.
