Puppia Two Tone Dog Lead Strong Durable Comfortable Grip Walking Training Leash for Small & Medium Dog, Red, Large

We spotted these color coordinated leashes while we were placing an order for the Puppia harnesses of the same color. The quality is alright, I guess, but I am quite disappointed in two things: the metal clasps often do not retract as smoothly as we would like — my wife mentions this often — and the length of the leash is just a bit short at 57 inches. Admittedly, that is only 3 inches shorter than other brands that are available a large pet marts, but it turns out that those 3 inches often make a difference. We bought the largest of the 3 sizes that Amazon sells, so there is nothing to move up to in this color. The width of the leash is a bit wider than some competing brands, and this is a good thing.If the shorter length is unimportant to you then you will likely be very happy with your purchase.Edit the next day: Actually, the leash is 1 foot 3 inches shorter than the standard 6 foot length for a leash. For the price charged for this product, one would think that an extra foot of material would not be that much of an expense.

I am always searching for a small clasp leash for my small 7lb papillon. I had high hopes for the puppia leash after enjoying their harnesses. I ordered size small in wine and was surprised at how unusually short the leash was and more importantly at the quality. The leash feels flimsy (I use xsm leashes so it is not an issue of scale). The fabric is not great and a bit stiff not like the nice strong plyable nylon of high quality versions. The clasp hardly works it feels like dollar store quality and catches when you spring it back. I do not trust this product on my pet. As other reviewers have noted the puppia tag is not sewed into the leash it sticks out the side. Not sure if this is due to the small sizing or it not being authentic. I am returning this in any case and do not recommend it to others.

We ordered the medium sized leash for our very small (10 pound) Boston Terrier. We had only used the leash twice, and on our third use we were stopped outside our house when the dog got a fright and tried to dart away. The clasp came completely apart and the dog took off! Fortunately she made a beeline for the front door instead of the road. On closer examination the metal part of the clasp that allows it to swivel had simply split as if sawed through.While the nylon lead itself seemed fine, the fact that more then one person has uncovered problems with the clasp leads me to believe that there is a manufacturing weakness with these leads and I can not recommend them. If you do purchase one of these leads, make sure to try out the clasp yourself to make sure it's solid.

I love Puppia harnesses for my rescue Chi. The quality is great. As for this leash, I am not so crazy. I ordered it for the color (green) and length and will only be using it for certain seasonal costumes. It appears to be well made. My issue is that it has a chemical smell out of the package and the way that it comes folded, I had to spritz it with water and iron it to take the creases out. They may come out on their own with time and use, but I was working with a deadline. Other than that, the color is great and it appears to be well made.

The large leash is not very wide (looks like it may be possibly intended for a larger small breed). The clasp that hooks to collars/harnesses is hard to open and keeps getting stuck, I’m unsure if I received a defective one or if this is poor quality. I’m also unsure how this is considered a large leash, it seems thin and not sturdy, and not even suitable for my medium sized dog. Another minor complaint is that it’s a different shade of purple than my purple puppia harness, however this is insignificant in comparison to the other problems.

I've been using this leash for about 4 months. I probably should have ordered a 6 foot leash, but I bought the matching harness and wanted the same color in leash. Overall I like the leash. It is made well, and I haven't had any issues with the fabric pilling or stitches coming out. The clasp that connects to the harness is good quality and hasn't broken yet. The handle I find to be a bit big, but that's not a huge problem. The only issue I have is because of the nature of the fabric, the leash gets very dirty and needs to be cleaned regularly. Especially with the harness and leash together, sometimes the leash gets stuck under my dog's legs, and so it drags on the ground. I would probably recommend washing this weekly. I haven't tried machine washing so I can't comment on if it would stand up to that.

I ordered the leash and was worried from other reviews that it was not authentic but it came with the black rubber Puppia label. I ordered a large and it was a nice length for my 1 year old, 35lb Frenchie Ralph. It matches the green harness perfectly. The thickness is fine also it is the same width as the straps on the harness. I have the Puppia softfit harness. It is a little stiff it was the first use and seemed sturdy. It is double sticthed but not 2 toned as advertised. I do not mind it is the same green as his harness. It has a sturdy metal clasp to attach to the harness but no extra loop to attach poop bags. I just put mine on the handle. Overall it is a great leash so far and a great price. Thank you Puppia!

I was unsure about ordering the  Puppia Authentic Two Tone Lead, Royal, Medium , but since I'd ordered a Puppia harness, figured that I'd splurge and purchase this as well. The two tone colors is attractive and although the weight of this leash is light, I find it to be secure. The handle slips over my hand easily and it's not difficult to switch from hand to hand when necessary. I've experienced no twisting or snagging, and the clasp has functioned without problem. I keep it attached to the harness for the most part and simply slip my Shih Tzu in and out of them both at the same time. For times I want her to run with more freedom than the few feet of this leash, I can very quickly switch it with a retractable leash and slip this in a pocket. The dog seems to appreciate not having a heavier fabric or leather containing her and I'm very pleasantly surprised at how much I am liking it. I recommend this for dogs that don't pull very much and suggest combining it with a Puppia harness for the dog's comfort.

I love bargains and normally use different apps for deals voucher codes and price tracking and comparison sites stights but when I need something quick like next day. Amazon always my go to store there are apps designed to help you find Amazon bargains but if you need a specific product quickly then the best thing to do is put it in the search then rather going straight though the result I advise you click on the prime only to ensure quick delivery then I go though the filters and have the remaining items priced low to high I rather than going straight for the cheapest item and have a look at the reviews and get the cheapest one with the best reviews honestly since I have been doing this I have been so surprised often the prices are so different from the prices I would have paid without doing any of this. The puppy lead was very good value with great reviews and also turned out to be a lot cheaper than what I would have paid on ebay where I get most bargains but with the added benefit of next day delivery tje lead I'm of good quality and nice coulors as it is a puppy lead it's obviously quite thin only really suitable for very small adult dogs like my chihuahua and small pup's I wouldn't advise it for a puppy from a larger breed and even for some small to medium dogs will probably grow out of it very quickly Which makes its bargain basement price tag appealing if you are only going to be using it for a short amount of time though coz of the quality it could be kept and passed on to a family ember who got a chihuahua sized dog or getting a new pup or kept

I bought this as a replacement for the same (the spring in the clip finally went). It works fine as a lead, but what I like is that it is easy to carry in the hand (when my dog is off the lead); it's not too thick and folds nice and easily. I occasionally just stuff it into my pocket - it folds that well.

I bought this to go with a puppia harness for my cat but it just doesn't seem strong enough even for a small animal.I feel that I don't trust it and as safety is more important than pretty colours, I'm going to go for something sturdier instead.

Fine for price. Lighter pink in colour than I expected. Thin lead but strong enough.

Poor, this would be ok to walk a cat or a mouse but not a puppy! It’s very thin and not good at all. Amazon have refunded me back luckily.
