does NOT smell like lemongrass
I'm not blown away. I have type 4a/4b hair and I'm always looking for great leave in sprays to fight the frizz. It's not too greasy or drying. I do a light spritz on slightly damp hair and it dries well, no flakes, but it's definitely not as moisturizing as I would like. The biggest disappointment is the smell. This product does smell good but it most definitely does NOT smell like lemongrass. In fact it doesn't smell like any of the natural ingredients that are labeled. The closest I can pin the smell to is a bag of starburst candy....if it were melted and made into a syrup. The label is misleading and if you're like me an absolutely LOVE the smell of lemongrass then you will be very disappointed.

I use this with the LOC method for my son's mostly 3c hair
My toddler has 3b hair at the very front of his head and 3c throughout the rest. I normally wash it on Sunday's and I can sometimes get another wash in in the middle of the week. He also gets it conditioned after the wash and a good comb through while the conditioner is in his hair. I normally only put coconut oil in it after the wash and then spray it with a leave in conditioner that I made at home with his conditioner during the week. The issue I have had is that my son's hair gets very frizzy once it dries and it looks as if I did not even attempt to do his hair in the morning. I would hate coming home after work to see that it looked like a matted mess especially since nap time takes out any moisture he had in it. After doing some research on his hair type and how to control the frizz, I came across Alikay Lemongrass Leave-in Conditioner in a suggested product review. Upon using it at first, I loved how it kept his hair from becoming frizzy and looking moisturized but as the day would continue on I felt like it was maybe too much for his fine hair. His hair would have the "wet" look even after it dried. While I don't mind the look, it is not what I was going for. I want his hair to look moist without the "I just drenched my hair in water" look. I continued researching curly hair care (my hair is mostly straight with a slight wave to it so I am completely new to all of this) and I read about the LOC method. L-liquid, O-oil, C-cream. I knew I had all of the products at home to try this out and I am glad I did. For the liquid, I lightly spray this all over his head and lightly work it in with my fingers. For the oil, I rub a small amount of coconut oil into my hands and work that all over his hair. For the cream, I have Shea Moisture Kids Curling Butter Cream. I treat this like the oil and place a small amount in my hands and work it into his curls. His hair at this point has enough product in it that is not dry and it allows me to rake my fingers through his curls. At first glance, his hair looks "wet" but after it dries, his curls have a nice coil to them and it looks healthy and shiny and there is no more frizz! Before using the LOC method as well as this leave-in conditioner, his hair would always look dry after leaving the sitters from nap time. I have not had this issue anymore. Before his hair dries using Alikay Lemongrass, the coconut oil, and the curling butter cream, his 3b section almost looks like it has too much product in it. However, it does curl up nicely and shiny after it dries. I added this to say this might be too much for 3b hair? I might try just water for the liquid in LOC for his 3b hair after his wash this week and continue to apply Alikay to the rest of his hair. I do love the slip that this product provides with his curls and it works great as the L in LOC. It has a really nice smell to it too.

Not the full solution for me
Purchased for my 1 yr old daughter who has 4a/4b hair. We have hard water in Houston so her hair gets dry and brittle. This conditioner does soften the hair and eases combing. However the softness and sheen does not last all day. I use it morning and night for that reason and thankfully no product buildup. Smell is strong but I like it. I've used it alone and with shea butter. The yellow color leaves stains on clothes and car seat but it will wash out. Not the product for us. I can see it working better combined with other products if you have time to figure out the right combination.

Hooray for Alikay!
Smells wonderful and works well on my coily type 4c hair! I've purchased another bottle and will continue to do so if the formula stays the same.

HOLY GRAIL: One of my staple leave ins!
This is one of the only natural products that has moisturized my hair, kept it moisturized, strong, and healthy. I have super tangly curly 3c 4a hair anx I just notice way less tangles and more clumping when I use this.

I NEED MORE OF IT!!
I can already tell there’s a difference in my hair. Using water, Vaseline and this in my hair is very helpful. My hair is in transition, so I need as much moisture as possible. I appreciate this brand a lot. This leave-in conditioner helps your hair, especially if it’s 4C.

terrible smell
Horrible smell!! I can't stress how bad this stuff smells. It smells like a public bathroom cleaner. Open the bottle and it STINKS. Put even one bit on our hair and it stays all day long. Used it once. I don't know how companies can sell stuff that smells so bad. What makes it even worse... below average stuff; nothing special at all. I was looking for a spray on conditioner. I regret getting it off of Amazon since it's not returnable and a huge waste of money.

This product smells very good. I give it a 3-star because I do ...
This product smells very good. I give it a 3-star because I do believe it is a bit pricey considering there are other really good natural leave-in conditioners out there for half the price. This one, a little does not go a long way. However, I must say this is the lowest price I have ever seen it both online and in store. So if I buy it again it will be from this seller. Also, the seller seems to take customer satisfaction seriously. I appreciate that.
