Quality charger.
Coming from the "orb" wireless charger that Google released with the Nexus 4, I am glad that my phone actually stays on the charger this time around.I am currently using the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 (2013 edition) and the charger works well for both devices. Starting with the Nexus 5, I pretty much set my phone on the base every night and it is charged ready to go in the morning. It actually charges in a couple hours but I dont remove it until I wake up. It works with the official plastic bumper case that I got from the Google play store on the phone as well. The phone has to have the charger at about the middle of the back of the phone or it doesnt engage in the charging. The phone has a notification sound when the phone makes a "connection" and begins charging, provided the phones audio settings are switched on and not being silenced. I have also used the Nexus 4 on the charger and it worked like a charm. The Nexus 7 is a bit trickier. As others have stated, it is more difficult to find the sweet spot to get it to start charging. Also, I have the official flip case from the Google play store and the wireless charging is inoperable with this case on.Like most Google products, the charger is well made. It is a smooth plastic on top with the Nexus insignia printed on it. It is a little small though, which can make it a bit tricky to remove your gadgets. This is due to the magnetic attraction the charger has to the device combined with its small form factor. I find myself holding the cord with one finger as I lift the phone with my other fingers. This usually releases the phone just fine. Not a big deal to me, but to some this might be frustrating.Overall the charger is well made, looks classy and does its job well with most of the devices. I cant say the price is right but the technology isnt standard for all devices just yet. It is definitely an upgrade to the orb charger, and for that I am happy.

Great charger!
Once I got my Nexus 5, I couldn't wait to try wireless charging. This charger works perfectly; once you get it, you'll never want to plug in a charging cable again.Unlike most cheaper chargers, this one includes the alignment magnets that make it easy to reliably place your Nexus device on the charger. Once aligned, charging starts within a few seconds. It's slower than wired charging, thanks to physics, but will easily charge your phone kin a few hours. I just put my phone on it each night as I head to bed and pick up a charged phone in the morning. The design is very nice, including the wall adapter. Although beautiful, the adapter may be the only drawback to this charger: no other adapter works with this charger. Attempts to use generic wall adapters and power banks all failed to drive the charger, resulting in a little red light coming on instead. I am aware that you need a beefy adapter; I used devices up to 2.4A with no luck. The charger appears to draw about 7 watts of power, ruling out most conventional phone adapters, but I have to suspect there is some specific coupling between the charger and the adapter. My advice: don't lose the wall adapter that comes with this charger.Nonetheless, this is a great device, well worth the additional price for the magnetized base. I have since gotten a Nexus 7 tablet, and it also works flawlessly with this unit.

Doesn't work with Google branded products!
If I could give exactly 2.5 stars I would. I have a Nexus 5 and a Nexus 7, and this charger is a Jekyl/Hyde type device between the tow.If I only had a Nexus 5 this charger would get an enthusiastic 5 star rating. It holds the phone firmly when charging but let's go easily when you want to pick it up. It charges relatively quickly and very reliably. For the Nexus 5 this charger is perfect. For the Nexus 7 it gets a ZERO star review. It does charge a naked Nexus 7 just fine, but mine has a case on it. Not just any case mind you, but the OFFICIAL GOOGLE EFFING CASE! You would think their OFFICIAL charger would work through their OFFICIAL case, but no. The $50 OFFICIAL charger is unable to charge through the $50 OFFICIAL case. I have to rely on my $10-25 Chinese chargers to charge my N7. I suppose I could remove the case each time I wanted to charge it, but the whole point of wireless charging is to REDUCE hassle, which "removing the case every time" clearly falls under. If you have a Nexus 5 (and maybe a 4, I don't know) get this charger, you will love it. If you have a N7, look elsewhere, this charger is not for you.
