Kenwood Excelon DDX9904S In-Dash DVD Receiver with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto

Usually I don't leave reviews unless a product exceeds my expectations. Installed on 2005 Honda Element.Let's start by first impression:As soon as I opened the box I was already impressed, all of the wires and manuals were neatly packed & the headunit was wrapped in a high quality plastic. Unwrapping the headunit was a bit of a challenge, but you can tell that it was packaged very carefully. All of the buttons are solid (no free play) the quality control that went into this unit is bar none. This unit is just solid.Installation:Installation was a breeze, just color match the wires with the harness & you'll be good to go. Includes everything you need for installation except your vehicle harness which is seperate. Also this unit does not include a remote which I don't mind.Sound quality:This is my 3rd headunit in less than a month, tried keeping cost down but wasn't happy with none of the headunits I purchased. The Sony nor with the Alpine impressed me the way the Kenwood did. Sony AX200 seemed very buggy didn't like the software nor the sound, the dash kit didn't seem to fit right either tried 3 different brand with no luck, the Alpine iLX207 was ok but the phone calls seemed very low even at maximum level. I guess third one is a charm because from the call qualities to music this headunit sounds amazing. Believe me you'll be impressed. I'm using it with Android Auto which feels very snappy. Also the headunit displays the album cover via Bluetooth which is nice. I will continue to test the unit. Any updates will be noted on here.

Great double-din head unit. Used in my 09 Silverado, so it will work in 2007-2014 Chevy Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban, and GMC Sierra, Yukon, and Yukon XL. I did have to trim a little plastic out of the back of the dash to get it to sit in there completely, but it is worth it for the quality of this head unit. It's easy to use and figure out. The Equalizer and audio settings are extremely nice and really help to fine tune your sound. There are a lot of settings, so once you understand what the settings do you will be able to fine tune to your preferences. It has a glass touch screen instead of the cheap feeling plastic screens.

Best Buy installed. Unit works flawlessly with my iPhone X. It’s super responsive, can see great in sunlight, very clear. It also makes the stock speakers sound amazing. Wouldn’t recommend anything else.

This is a great sounding head unit, great screen layout and easy to use.

The product was great. Just expect to have a stand alone Nav system, it was more geared towards iPhone/android CarPlay. Overall lost out $140.00 dealing with the return policy (3party). To keep with the customer as a manage, the question asked “ What can we do to solve this matter” instead let it be knew about the RETURN POLICY was quick to take the money, I would of been happy paying the difference for the head unit that fix’s my needs. Which they had. Offered me that option would of been a top notch salesmen / management call and would have kept my car clubs business. Still support Amazon but that one company Wow I’m pretty sure one head unit wasn’t going to bring down sales. Plus was explain to me that the unit could not be sold as new. REALLY packaging, wiring, etc was all sent back in tac. Ok I’m done. Lesson learned try not to buy electronic off line. Look out for THAT GUY.

What can I say... Its a Kenwood.. The sound is unmatched.. The screen is beautiful.. and it has so many options.. By far one of the best HU I have ever owned..

Was not what we expected. Was sent the wrong unit. The unit we received did not have true Apple car play.

This thing is amazing, it brought our 2005 car into the future. Very easy install works great with thee back-up camera.
