Brother 27-Stitch Sewing Machine, LX2763

So far works like a dream....I'm a beginner so I'm not that experienced. I like that I was able to set it up fairly quick. I threaded it myself because I need to learn the quick threading mechanism, and my mom was impatient. I'm using this to make my kids Halloween costumes. So far it works great, and has potential to be an amazing machine once I learn how to do everything. It sews beautifully, and I can't wait for all the projects that I can do....mainly clothes for my kids.

Easy to thread they said, beginning they said, learn to sew quickly they said.Everything is easy when you already know how to do it. YouTube helped me to get it threaded, but it didn’t seem like beginner level stuff. Why in the world do you have to go up around, over down, and to grandmother’s house to simply thread it? And the pick up for the bobbin took four tries and throwing a dammit doll across the room. And that’s without being far-sighted.I felt so triumphant after threading, I’m not sure I will actually sew! Why wreck a good thing.

It worked fantastic until I changed to a new thread color. Now I can't get it to sew.

Item broke and won’t work at all after 3 weeks of use. Don’t waste your money

I am so excited about this sewing machine! It works like a charm! I used to sew a lot. I made all of my clothes when I was growing up and made my kids clothes. My daughter's home ec teacher told me that most kids in High School hate what their mom makes, but she loves having the clothes that I made! I even made two prom dresses for her! I quit sewing for a long time and didn't have a machine. I am so happy to be sewing again and I love this machine!!

This little machine is very easy to use and easy to move around. I've been sewing for 60+ years and have a bigger, heavy duty machine. But this is so comfortable and smooth-stitching that I expect to use it often. And it's mechanical! I don't like the computerized machines because I prefer dials that stay where I set them, regardless of whether the machine is turned off and on 10 times.

My XL 2600i died after a recent move. I was in the middle of a project and bought one of these at a big box store. I like this machine better. The LX2763 is a little heavier and feels sturdier than the XL 2600i. The LX2763 seems to sew smoother as well. The LX 2763 operates pretty much like the XL2600i with a few minor changes. I think the LX2763 us worth the extra money as the heavier machine sits more solidly on your work surface. I would never have given up the XL2600i because it was a great little machine but it developed severe tensions issues after my move and I was forced to change. I feel the LX2763 is a reasonable upgrade for someone who doesn't need a lot of fancy stitches. I only sew clothing and a few home accessories.

I love this machine as I have 3 other machines of this model. I am a crafter and need machines to work. This machine did not work properly when I opened the box. The hand wheel turned very hard and the foot pedal was pressed to the floor. I emailed the seller questioning if this machine was a refurb or a new machine. They replied that this was a new machine and if I was having issues with it, I needed to call Brother at the service number. I was not happy with that reply and will not be purchasing from them again. The machine finally quit working totally and thankful it is within the time frame of returning it.
