 I wanted so badly to love these, and before they even arrived I did. I've been making a huge effort to reduce my use of plastic and generally be more eco-friendly. I was SO EXCITED when I saw these! But once they arrived, there was something immediately frustrating about them, so I waited to write my review until I'd used one of these at least twice. So here I am.First, trying to open these things is awful. I thought, okay, fine, first time opening these buggers is tough, but second time might be better, right? Well, no. It's just as difficult as the first time. You can listen to my sigh of exasperation in the video I've posted. The first minute or so of the video is me halfway through opening the gallon sized bag, having added hot water (for some reason I thought this would make it easier). Struggling to open this bag is what made me decide it was time to write this review, and the video would help other buyers decide whether they mind it or not. This is the second time I've used the gallon sized bag. The second half is me opening one of the previously unopened sandwich-sized bags, which I kept dry because the water did nothing.My other problem with these is that when I think I have it open all the way--that little bottom slit on the outside included, so it can truly fully open up--I realize after filling it up that I have consistently missed pretty significant pockets. You can see one such a pocket in my picture. That, or it closes up again before I get food in there. It's happened to me with the gallon bags each time, but once with the sandwich bags. I thought I had it open all the way and I went to slip my sandwich inside, but the sandwich only went halfway because it had closed up again.So. While I'd love to never use plastic zip-top bags ever again, I don't think these are my solution. Or at least, not this batch of them. I'm open to trying others if they're easy to open.Please comment on my review if you use an easier replacement for zip-top bags!!

I read the reviews about difficulty closing them up with the slider thingy, but ordered these anyway. When I received them, I tested them out and they slider seemed to work fine. You have to use a little pressure to close them up (maybe not great for people with arthritis) but no big deal. So I washed them and put them away (hand washed the sliders, dishwasher for the bags). This morning, I had the first occasion to use one of the quart bags and I COULD. NOT. GET. THE. TOP. ON. I pulled and pulled. I used a bit of olive oil to grease things up but it still wouldn’t go on. At this point, I’m ready to send them back. But then I went back to the cabinet to grab another bag and test the slider. That’s when it dawned on me that I had two sizes of bags (2 large and 4 medium) and that the sliders are not interchangeable. I was trying to put a medium slider on a large bag and this won’t fit. As soon as I tried the correct size, it slid on with no problem. The manufacturer may want to consider making the sliders for the different sizes a certain color or pattern/marking to help distinguish. I have two gray sliders that are identical except for their size. Other than this issue, I’m really happy with these. It held up to all my yanking and tugging, is leak proof, and should last a long time.

These bags SMELLED (I smelled them the second I opened the package; a friend didn't notice the smell until they were maybe 6 inches from her nose - but silcone should NOT smell!These bags arrived stuck together. It took some force to separate them. Silicone should NOT be sticky.I've got silicone kitchen products from at least six different manufacturers and not one is smelly or sticky.I was planning on cooking in these - but I figure it it's release a smell, it's probably also releasing other things I don't want in my food.

First of all I love the packaging it came in because the box is substantial, and all the info about the bags is on the inside flap of the box, so the package makes a nice gift.The bags are bigger than I expected, specially the two extra large bags, it says they fit 6 cups and I believe it!I like that this company gives you a dry erase marker to date and label what’s in there.I also like the different colors, I’ll use the red for meats the green for veggies etc.Another thing I love about these bags as if they’re marked on the outside with measurements cups milliliters and in ounces the extra large bags hold 50 fl oz and the small ones hold 30 fl ozI saw these on TV I’m glad I got them because I know I’m gonna be putting them to use constantly.Last thing I have to say is the quality seems amazing because the silicone is very thick and it seems like they’ll last a along time. The dry erase marker will definitely come in handy!

I wanted to purchase this product , since I like hot food better and you really can’t do that with any other products in the market , had no difficulty opening or closing the bag, I saw one reviewer went out of her way to produce a video and used the highest form of exaggeration to knock off the quality of it, made me more motivated to buy it and see for myself, not saying it didn’t happen to her, but than again could have been staged or doctored or to put it bluntly “faked”.I like it!!! It is 👍

I've now had these storage bags for more than four months and have tried again and again to use them enthusiastically. They are absolutely horrible to open and close, however, and I found out this morning that they are NOT effective for storing foods in the freezer. I defrosted some biscuits I make regularly (and usually freeze in Ziplock bags) to find the biscuits frozen in these reusable bags to be completely inedible. I'm giving up on these (and the Stasher bags, which are easier to close but equally useless for freezing), regretfully. I will continue to try to use less plastic and hope that replacement technology improves.
