Wasn't sure how this would look on a woman, so I was crossing my fingers it would work on me. I have a small head/face too, so often hats that work for men are too big looking on me. Happy this worked!Ok...about the hat. LOVE how lightweight it is, it's rediculously light, lighter than you would imagine. I love that! Other SPF hats I've tried are thick, floppy and heavy. Not this one. And check out how you can shape the brim how you want it. It's impressive. See the draw string in the back in the photo. Use that to adjust sizing. Chin strap is great feature for windy settings.5 stars...would recommend!

I personally love the hat. Does a grate job keeping the sun off your Mellon. Defiantly a hat for the man who is happily married man with three kids. Pair this hat up with a pair of baby blue Crocs with rubber soles, and your wife will never question your trying to attract another.

I have long hair and live in a rainy climate. So, I try to wear hats with long back brims (sometimes called neck coverings). to protect my hair. I took a chance on this hat, since the item description states that this hat is waterproof. I've tried most similarly styled hats from a variety of manufacturers.First of all, this hat is of a surprisingly good quality considering the cost. The open mesh panels would probably not provide total protection during a downpour, but it should protect my hair from misty rain and drizzles. The mesh panels are fairly small, so water can't go pouring in.I order this in two colors - gray and the light khaki. The gray looks great. The light khaki is more like a sickly eggshell white, sort of a yellowish white. I'd stay away from the color if you're trying to decide on a color. However, given the under ten dollar price, it's not worth it to return that one, so I'm just going to leave it in my car. The top part of the hat arrivesd on both the gray and light khaki wrinkly, but it appears that the wrinkles will come out given some time.I recommend the gray one. I'd stay away from the light khaki one, though, as the color is sickly and it will probably get dirty easily.

I am a 65 year old woman that loves to garden and be outdoors. The past few years the sun has been causing some issues with my skin. Hence, skin protection for my face and neck. This hat is ideal and it is lightweight and made of 100% nylon. The fabric on the back of this hat drapes beautifully on the back of my neck and is beyond comfortable, not scratchy or stiff like other hats. As a woman I have a larger head and this hat fits perfectly and comfortably yet it is adjustable for an average or smaller head. The brim is stiffer than the rest of the hat which makes it retain its perfect shape. The drawstring strap is very soft and adjustable and their are air vents at the top of the hat. I bought another hat along with this one but I absolutely love this one the most. I will be getting another one. P.S. I got the khaki one 😉

I waited to review this until I was able to test it under extreme conditions. It passed my tests.#1- I teach a water aerobics class outdoors in the hot Florida sun. It definitely keeps me much cooler than my baseball cap, while protecting my face and neck. Bonus: it's waterproof and quick drying.#2- Hiking in the sun & heat. I wanted to replace my big, heavy hiking hat that protected my head from the sun and heat. Plus, it looks silly on a short person. The Boonie Safari saved me again. It definitely keeps me cooler and protects me from UV damage. Plus, you can adjust the shape of the brim to suit your face. The back of the crown has an adjustable cord so the hat fits comfortably on almost any size head. In extreme heat, drizzle some water over the crown for a cooling treat

The wide brim on this hat offers limited protection from the sun on a breezy day. It flops around too much exposing areas around the head, face and neck to the sun because it is light weight.. Also the drawstring will not hold if you snug it up to the chin and so does not prevent wind from blowing the hat off your head. I have 2 other boonie hats that do not have this problem but offer no UV protection.On a windless day it is quite comfortable and fits good.

Overall I'm pretty happy with this after a few months of wearing it. I got it for outdoor use as added shade but also some protection from bugs. It does a great job with both of those and I like that it has a wide brim that is sturdy in the front but not rigid in the back. I have another hat with a rigid brim all around that falls off if I look up and this one doesn't have that problem. My former hat was straw and I also much prefer the lightweight material of this one for hot weather. The brim provides a good amount of shade while the back and top fabric is very breathable and I don't feel my head overheating as I did with the straw hat.I'm a petite female and the default size of this is too big for my head but it has two different ways to adjust it. You can tighten one strap that goes under your chin and also tighten it around the back so it stays on a bit better. The plastic things that let you adjust it are VERY sturdy and I actually have to use two hands to tighten it or loosen it, but this just means it stays very firmly in the position you want without loosening on its own. Once I found the perfect fit, I haven't had to fiddle with it since.One thing I didn't realize when I bought this is that it isn't waterproof at all. There is a small area on each side that is just open mesh which I didn't notice while buying so I wanted to point it out.It's starting to show a little wear after several months of use like some loose stitches on the brim and the back now curls up slightly. It's still in pretty good shape overall though, the brim is still very sturdy and has held its shape, and it does everything I want it to. I think it was a great price too and I'm pleased I bought it.
