Only lasted a year and 3 months!
I had trouble with this computer on and off until it finally died after a year and 3 months!!! Not much better than my previous Asus which was a lot less money. I've learned my lesson...NO MORE ASUS!!!

STATE OF THE ART
WOW and WOW. Worth every penny. All around great. Have not found anything I can complain about so far. I use mine just for photography.

My 2012 ASUS seems faster
My last laptop was an ASUS ROG I got just before Diablo 3 in 2012. I was a little underwhelmed on how this laptop speed compares to that old one. On the old laptop if clicked a browser it would instantly open, load, and I would just start typing in the address bar. With this new machine there is a slight delay with all three. I thought it was because it only had 16 gb ram, so I added 32 gb more. Nope.It seems to take a long time to boot up and get going also. For instance if I start the machine and it boots up Battle.Net. When I click 'launch' for World of Warcraft it can sometimes be two minutes before the game opens. However, after it is up and running it will run WoW on ultra high settings just fine. This is my first total SSD computer, so I'm not sure if that is reason or not.Let's talk about heat. The fans are loud, but not unbearable. It seems to move a lot of heat and my girlfriend has walked in the room a couple of times and mentioned that this is the hottest room in the house because I was gaming for a few hours. I was wearing shorts and it got so hot it started burning my legs. The on-board ASUS gaming center showed the processor was about 205 degrees F.VR Ready? Yes I plugged my Oculus Rift directly in and started playing. However, if you plug in an Oculus Rift there are no open USB ports for a mouse. I had to go buy a Bluetooth mouse (luckily Bluetooth is build in and you don't need a dongle). The two power bricks suck. I travel all the time and carrying one brick is a pain but can be done. Trying to put the laptop and two bricks into a backpack isn't easy.Adding RAM. This was also an ordeal. With a newer chip I had to return two RAM sticks because it was incompatible. I ended up getting this one and it worked.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F6N8L3S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1If you want to add ram, there is only one screw on the bottom. Don't try popping off the rubber feet. One ram stick was already installed on the opposite side of the motherboard. You can easily add two sticks, but if you want the full 64 gb you have to disassemble the thing and flip the motherboard over. Seriously...they should have just put two sticks in it when they made it.
