I got these because of the new EU rules banning single use plastics will start to come into effect. I like little boxes of juice and those little boxes of chocolate milk, but they have the straws which will soon be gone.Are these metals ones a suitable replacement? Too often, improvements are not really improvements; but I took a chance and bought these. They really are better. I was concerned that maybe they were too big to fit into that little hole area on top, but they are the same size and the straw goes in easily. Having a flat end also solves another problem, getting those last few drops. Plastic straws are cut on an angle and you suck air instead of chocolate milk. With these, they fit right down on the bottom and it all gets sucked out. Since there are a couple of cleaning brushes included, it is easy to do the washing up. Ironically, the bag to hold them is of synthetic material - it should be made of cotton. But I would recommend these and won't miss the plastic straws when they go.

Bought these as a gift for my daughter who is turning eco-friendly at the moment. She loves these straws. The colours are amazing. Fantastic product.
