Gretsch CM1E826PWG 2014 Catalina Maple 6-Piece Shell Pack with Free Additional 8" Tom - Walnut Claze

I’ve been wanting a 7 piece drum set for the longest, and I’m glad I found these Gretsch Catalina Maple. I feel that Gretsch Catalina drums aren’t very well known. I’ve been playing drums for 15 years, and I have heard of Catalina but really didn’t know much about it.I wanted a 7 piece set, with a natural wood finish. These drums were it. By the way, this drum is a shell pack, meaning you only get the shells, rims, stock drum heads, and the Tom mounts.These drums sound amazing with the stock heads, I’m honestly very happy with the stock heads, and will play them until they wear out, then I’ll get some remo ambassadors or emperors on it,The hardware is very sturdy and very high quality. The tom mounts are awesome.If you want a 7 piece kit, with a natural finish that is absolutely gorgeous, sounds amazing, and costs less than $1,500, these Catalina maples are the ones to get. I’m telling you, these drums sound like pro level drums. Absolutely amazing value.

I got the Maple Glaze finish and they are absolutely gorgeous! It really did not take long at all to setup and tune right out of the box. I am extremely happy with these beauties!

I've got a vintage mid 80's maple kit so I know how good Gretsch is-their tone is very applicable to a variety of styles but most of my high end drum rental customer's love the Gretsch for the pure jazz sound. I played a number of these mid-level Catalina's and they are not bad for the $$. The bad part is most novice drummers do not realize, GOOD Hardware is gonna cost you some $$$. So what you think you saved in the drum set- You will definitely spend on good quality hardware if you do not already own it.So let the buyer beware!!

just finished setting up my Catalina Maple 7pc. As an autobody guy the first thing i inspected was the fit and finish, other than the rim finish seeming a little average, the kit is very nice for a kit made in China. I've played drums on and off for 20 years and my skills are good, but i've always had beater kits, so this kit is awesome to me. The ability to place the shells exactly where you need them drastically improves play-ability and the tones are excellent, and i don't even have it dialed in yet. Something to keep in mind is that it does not come with hardware, so i had to use my old stands, etc, which makes reselling my old kit difficult. I don't normally buy kits sight un seen but my friends have smaller versions of this kit and love them, so i pulled the trigger on it and so far i'm glad i did.

I think this set is perfect for me. I love how it comes with a free tom tom. but i was wondering Does it come with the cymbals? I need to know for sure before i add it on to my christmas wish list please respond if it does come with cymbals. thanks!

Not really Gretsch, just bares the name. It's actually a Chinese mass produced kit.
