Great Tea Kettle!
This tea kettle has been a great purchase! It's been a long time since I updated my tea kettle. I'm surprised how cheap this is for the high quality you receive. The capri turquoise color is nice and makes a great kitchen piece on my stove. It's more of a blue than a turquoise but I'm happy with it! It's a medium-sized tea kettle but that's perfect for one or two people at a time. The whistle is decent; a little quiet, but sufficient if you're in the kitchen or a nearby room.I've had this for a couple of months and haven't had any issues with rust, leaking, or the plastic top melting. For all tea kettles, I've found that heat-induced issues are often due to gas burners being on too high and the heat creeping up the sides of the kettle, making the handle heat up and plastic melt. The only times I've ever had issues with hot water splashing out of the spout while pouring (whether this or any other tea kettle, no matter the depth of water) are when I'm pouring the water too quickly. You want to pour slowly enough to keep some air between the water and the spout - not pour so quickly that all the water is in the spout at once.I recommend purchasing this if you're looking for a new or additional tea kettle!

Who is this perfect for?
Me. I love this little kettle. It's also perfect for a couple or small family and those who don't need a whistle that wakes the dead. The design is very aesthetically appealing and functionally suites me well too. Being smaller means that even full the kettle is not too heavy to lift or pour. It is well balanced and does not feel akward in pouring. The lever under the handle allows for a firm grip when pouring. The top comes off without difficulty yet seals well when closed. I can easily fit my hand inside to clean the kettle as well. The handle is high enough to easily fill the kettle from a brita pitcher without tilting the kettle. The whistle will alert you if you are in the kitchen. If you put the kettle on and leave the room, it's true you may not hear it. In other words, what they say about a watched kettle is not true. Some reviewers have noted that the kettle spills all over the counter. I have only found that on a few occassions. I believe that occurs if the kettle is filled past the max capacity. Keeping the water below the spout weld should help. If you need to overfill, you need to get the 2 quart kettle. The rhubarb color was not as vivid as I had hoped, but all in all, this kettle is perfect for me. Adding a note here: there is a message under the kettle top which warns against over filling. You may be able to see it on the photo.

Slightly a diva teakettle but a good one!
I've used this teakettle every day since I got it 2 months ago (for $29.99), and it's one of the best of the many I've owned over the years. I've been debating between 4 and 5 stars, but after the test of time I give it 5, even though it's not perfect. Among its virtues, it's really cheery--although I must say the turquoise doesn't match what I see on my computer but is more turquoise and intense (still pretty). I usually pour 2 huge mugfuls, and that pretty much empties it. Among the things I like are the lid (which comes off easily but is still secure), the whistle (works fine), and the opening mechanism (squeeze handle, works well). The only drawback is the little puddle I often get on my stovetop, as others have mentioned, although I guess it's a good opportunity to wipe my stove. Over time my technique has improved so this doesn't happen every time. I actually read the directions (who reads the directions for a teakettle?), and it really does help to do things as this diva teakettle likes: not fill it too full, not heat at the highest setting, let it stop boiling before pouring, and slowly "pour water at a low angle to your cup." This does seem like an awful lot of rules for a simple teakettle, which is why I almost gave it a 4--but I'm used to it now and would get it again, so 5 stars!

Cute Kettle!
I like this tea kettle a lot! I use it for boiling water for my french press coffee every morning and I like that it holds a good amount of water to fill my whole french press without having lots of excess water to heat up. It is super cute on my stove and I think it is pretty enough to keep out all the time and not have to put away when not in use. The exterior is easy to wipe off when it gets splatters from other items on the stove. I also like that it has a relatively quiet whistle - it is not too bothersome to the cats. I dislike that while you are not supposed to fill up the kettle further than the spout on the inside the interior is black so it is very difficult to see how full the kettle is. I also dislike that the handle gets so hot when the kettle has heated up to boiling, but I don't know how that would be improved upon.

Works great & is beautiful, too.
I love this teapot. It is the perfect size for 1 person. I have found it does not sputter when you pour, boil over or chip. Let the teapot sit removed from the hot burner for about 30 seconds before pouring & it will not sputter. It must not be filled past about 3/4s full & it will not boil over. I am careful not to bang the kettle against anything & it hasn't chipped. In short, read & follow the directions & this teapot works wonderfully. I love the lever under the handle that lifts the cover over the spout. I absolutely love the appearance. The turquoise color with the black accents is gorgeous. The whistle is a pleasing sound & the volume is perfect. This is the nicest teapot I have ever owned & I'm sure I will be using it for many years. Thanks Amazon for offering this for such a reasonable price.
