This is a quality coffee machine
My partner drinks Ltd of espresso at night and this upgrade arrived a few months ago it's really impressive, quite a small footprint but it feels very well made. The Krupps used to make enormous railway guns during both wars so they know how to make stuff that will last.Nowadays it's a bit more friendly and this machine does all the coffee stuff brilliantly. And it's pretty quiet certainly much more so than the bean grinder we boughtAs with all coffee machines you need to keep it clean and this one is as easy as any.Well worth a buy especially at the price

Disappointing for a Krups
I had a great Krups machine before this one. I was buying this because it was heavily discounted for a limited time. For the price, I expected a better quality of product. I love my coffee and have had about 5 espresso machines by now and know a good one when I use it. The best thing is to list the pros and cons, I think.Pros:(1) The crema on this machine is second to none – it really is the best of all the machines I've had (which means the pump is really good); this is particularly great for lovers of the classic espresso (I'm a latté/capuccino drinker)(2) The coffee comes out quickly – I'm not waiting ages – this is a *major* plus(3) The coffee holder 'clicks' into place, so there's no pushing it too far, putting too much pressure on the handle (which has led to me cracking a handle for a previous machine)(4) It makes great coffee!(5) The frother – the plastic outer nozzle is easy to remove and clean.Cons:(1) The frother – the inner metal nozzle is difficult to clean after every use and is susceptible to blocking with dried milk you may have missed (it's a real faff to clean)(2) The frother – it makes the least-dense froth of any frother I've used on a machine, ever; so much so, I decided to invest in a separate milk frother to compensate (and that's not good)(3) The frother – no matter how long I use it to froth, the milk never seems to get hot enough(4) The frother – because of the positioning and manoeuvrability of the frother (or lack thereof), it's very difficult to manage a jug underneath sufficiently; this was improved by bringing the whole machine forwards to the edge of the countertop so the jug was below countertop level – this isn't ideal, and, again, a bit of a faff(5) The frother – I've burnt myself about 4–5 times on the metallic inner nozzle when trying to clean it – it just isn't practical(6) The frother – because of all of the above, I just don't use it anymore, which means I probably paid more for a machine that has one than I could have for one that doesn't(7) This machine feels 'light'. My last Krups was a heavy, metal-based design. It had plastic parts as well but felt more 'solid' and good quality. This feels light and cheap in comparison. I'm not returning it but it's definitely not the best espresso machine I've owned, overall.Overall: if it's espresso making you want, this machine is great. If you do a lot of frothing, keep looking.

Great little Espresso machine !
My last Espresso machine was also a Krups, but it failed after eight years. I am on a low income, so couldn't replace it, and for the last six months I have been using a cafetiere I bought off Amazon for a tenner.I finally managed to get enough spare cash to buy one, and it was amazing to taste the espresso again, I missed that flavour ! Cafetiere's make very bitter coffee, even if I only let it brew for a minute it was always bitter - it was so good to taste the flavour from this machine. The previous machine had a few issues, and this one solves them perfectly. Espresso, Cappucino & latte all easily made and great. So far, after a month's use, no problems and just pure lovely coffee. The first one I received was a dud, the pump sounded like it was working but no water was getting pumped through - this one worked fine. When I was in business I expected a 2-5% failure rate, and reordered as all the Krups products I have purchased previously have been great and lasted a long time. My current burr grinder was bought at the same time as the previous coffee machine and is 8 years old and working fine.

Absolute rubbish - do not buy this product
I bought this Krups espresso machine to replace the same model I bought 17 years ago. That machine was used once a day for all that time and gave me no trouble. However, it finally gave up the ghost. So, I thought if my new machine lasts another 17 years then that will be good value. However, as soon as I'd unpacked the new model I could tell the build quality was inferior to the older model. I switched it on, turned the knob to brew some coffee......and nothing happened apart from some very loud pump noises. I tried again, and again, and again and it still didn't work. Obviously, there is no quality control at all at the factory that makes this product. I shipped it back to Amazon the next day. What a waste of my time. Today, my new Smeg machine arrived. Much more expensive than the Krups machine, but the design, build quality and pump power are far better than my old Krups. So, as always, you do get what you pay for.

This little machine did not disappoint!
After my old espresso machine decided it had had had enough I started looking for a new espresso machine. Krups was not a brand I had thought of but I kept seeing their products get good reviews. I saw this machine at a very good price, read the reviews and decided to buy it. I have been very happy with the quality of the machine, more importantly I have been very happy with the quality and flavour of the coffee! If crema is what you are looking for this little machine is a wizard! If it's a good milk steamer this machine will blow you away! It is easy to use and easy to clean, lightweight, looks good and makes great coffee. Recommended.
