UPDATE: Yes, the product smelled ghastly. When I contacted the company, however, they immediately responded and made it right. Not sure why the product smelled so badly of fish, but at least they owned up to it. I really loved the planner itself. Hopefully, the next one will be scent free!Original: I see other people experienced this awful fish smell when they received their planner. I tried Clorox Wipes, airing it out, and nothing works. What on earth??

SECOND UPDATE: The replacement planner arrived and it also reeks of dead fish. I’m done. Time to shop elsewhere. Unfortunately, I just have to call this one a loss because the return fee makes returning not worth it. DO NOT ORDER THIS PLANNER.UPDATE: after a week in a sealed plastic bag with a box of baking soda dumped in and around the planner, the smell has not dissipated at all. The rotten fish smell that came from the bag nearly knocked me over when I opened it. I cannot return this planner without being charged $5, so I’ve instead ordered a replacement and I am crossing my fingers than it will be better... I am doubtful. I’m also irritated that we are well into January and I have not been able to use this planner.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I love everything about this planner... except it arrived reeking I’d dead fish. I have it trapped in a plastic bag with baking soda right now, hoping that helps. If not, I will have to return it, as there’s no way I can carry this in my work bag or bring to a professional meeting. It smells awful.Also, I see throughout the reviews that many people are experiencing this issue, and the vendor continues to reply to the negative reviews that we should spray the planner with perfume, and then leave it outside for a few days. You have got to be kidding me. That's the solution? Cover up the smell of dead fish with the smell of perfume???I am not normally the type of person who would notice the smell of a product, let alone write a review about it. So the fact that I'm taking the time to talk about it here means it's pretty bad. The fact that multiple reviews say the same thing (smells like fish) means it's REALLY bad.Do not buy this planner, unless you're a seal and therefore enjoy the smell of fish.

this was what I was needing but when I opened it it smells like fish, rotten fish, not sure why but a couple of weeks have gone by and the smell hasn't lessened at all. It seems to be in-bedded in the paper. I am throwing it out, returning it and paying shipping isn't worth it.

as soon as i opened the packaged i could not believe what a terrible odor was coming from inside, i removed the plastic wrap around the planner & the smell was even worst which made me realize it was from the item itself! i could not log on fast enough to ask for a refund! what a shame this planner was exactly what i wanted, great size & writing space. i searched other reviews and noticed all recent reviews mentioned the same odor!

Ordered this calendar and received it quickly. Since it came on a Sunday I opened the package and let it in my office. On Monday I sat down at my desk and kept smelling something like old shrimp or cat piss and could not figure it out. Opened the calendar to start to enter some information and a big whiff of old shrimp/cat pee smell hit me in the face. It was the calendar producing the smell. I don't have a cat and we have not eaten shrimp at the house. I tried to air the calendar out by placing it outside for two days no luck. I will be throwing this calendar away and buying another one from somewhere else. Do not buy this calendar.

I bought these as a part of a gift for my employees. The planners had a horrible smell. These are pretty flimsy and cheap. Not happy with this purchase.

This is awesome, other than the disgusting, extremely strong smell of fish! YUCK! If the smell doesn't go away I will be forced to return it.

I gave this one star because it is a nice size and quality. I appreciate the “HOLIDAYS” page with reminders about national holidays, Father’s Day, daylight savings time, Stepfamily day, Belly Laugh day (not kidding) etc, etc.... it also reminds of Easter, Good Friday, Cinco de Mayo and other religious holidays. I appreciate that as I have friends from a variety of religions and cultures. All holidays are also noted on each monthly page.I want noted I do not object to any holiday (strange or otherwise) but.....not one Jewish Holiday is noted on the holidays page or in the monthly calendars. I know when “Sweetest Day” is but not Passover, Chanukah or any other Jewish holiday. I find this insulting and ignorant. I have a monthly organizer At-A-Glance for 2018 purchased on amazon and it includes Jewish Holidays and other religions as well. It is a free country and this manufacturer has every right to their publication. But the amazon website does not mention in some form......NO JEWISH HOLIDAYS INCLUDED I gave this one star because it is a nice size and quality.
