Replacement Battery for Google Nexus 7 (2nd Generation)

Despite the 3950mAh claim, it doesn't last as long as the original one
I ordered one of these Chinese batteries after my 2013 Nexus 7 started to fail to hold its charge for very long (I do use it on a daily basis, often watching YouTube vids for hours on end). When it finally died and failed to even power up, I bit the bullet and replaced the old battery with the new one, using a separate tool kit ordered elsewhere for a few quid. It's a simple enough operation if you follow one of the how-to vids on YouTube, and took me about 15 mins.My Nexus now works as new, except for the fact that this battery lasts only about 50% as long on a single charge as the original did when new. The reduced capacity is also revealed by the fact that it charges to 100% significantly faster than the old one did. Fast to charge: fast to drain. I'm therefore sceptical that this battery is genuinely a 3950mAh one (the actual capacity of the original).Regardless, I would recommend shopping around and getting the largest capacity you can, and a reliable make.

Perhaps I was unlucky on this occasion but was not impressed
Replaced the original battery in my wife's Nexus 7 and whilst it charged up efficiently and without problem she has been very disappointed with the life of the new battery - barely 40 minutes usage before depleted. Whilst I accept that the battery was cheap I cannot recommend it to others based on my own experience.
