The good life
This machine is wonderful! I first tried Flavia coffee a couple of years ago while waiting for my car to be serviced at the Mercedes dealership. Best coffee I'd had in a long time. It's so nice to walk into the kitchen, insert a packet and push a button for a cup of hot......whatever I feel like! This machine deserves a five rating in the ease of use and the flavor of the packets, whether they are teas, coffee or chocolate. I would recommend this to anyone.UPDATE: We've owned this machine now for 5 months and haven't had a single problem - would still buy it all over again. We live right next door to a Starbucks and we've saved a ton of $$$ as this little machine makes as good a cup, or better, than what we can get next door. Yes, it's a bit of a pain to have to order the flavor packets from Flavia, but they do ship out right away and we've always received the order within 2-3 days. We organized the packet rails on our pantry door so we can immediately see when we are going to run out.My husband and I have contests to see who can make the cup that tastes most like Starbucks and here is our winning recipe: Sugar free Hazelnut Latte - put in bottom of large cup (Venti size): 1/2 - 1 packet of Splenda, 2 T. of sugar free Hazelnut creamer. Run an Espresso Roast packet on the largest (8oz) setting first - do not throw packet away. Then insert the Creamy Topping packet and run it through. Finally run the Espresso Roast packet again on the middle setting (5 oz). Delicious!Hint: if you run the Creamy Topping first it foams very little so try doing this in between the coffee packet. And we love the teas as well, in particular the Raspberry Sparkle for a daytime pick-me-up and the Lemon Calm in the evening. Enjoy!

Absolutely filthy AND broken!
Not sure how this product was listed as "Like New" as it was Filthy on the broken inside slide cover as well as the dispenser head was broken off the machine.

Barely used it and it burned out quick.
AS I researched to see why my drink station was only making half a cup, found an article stating that is a sign it is going south. IMO, if it is an distinct sign, then it is a design flaw. For the price it should last more than a few years, with light use.

Some Good, Some Bad
This machine has some good points, and it has some bad.Pros----It's clean. It's reasonably quiet.Once you learn what all the blinking lights do, it's easy to use.The price for the machine isn't that bad. There is a nice selection of coffees, teas, and other drinks. It's built pretty well. Very solid. It's pretty quick. Takes about a minute to warm up, and then about 30 seconds to make a cup of coffee.Cons----All in all, the drinks are kind of expensive. You have to order them from the Flavia website. While the pouches are usually less than 50 cents a piece, many drink recipes take two or three pouches to make. So now you're up to $1.50 per drink. But it doesn't stop there. Even the cheapest shipping rates can run you about $9. In the end, you're going to end up spending about $1.75 per drink. The expense wouldn't be that big of an issue, BUT the coffee really isn't that good. I think a cup of freshed brewed Folgers tastes better, and that's saying a lot.The creamer pouches that you use to make cappuccinos taste bad. It's basically like frothed up non-dairy creamer powder. I usually add a little real milk to make the drinks taste better.A single pouch makes a pretty small cup of coffee. If you're a big coffee drinker, you might have to use two pouches per cup.Nutshell--------If I could do it all over again, I might not have bought this machine. I haven't tried any of the other pod type machines, but I'm not 100% happy with this one.

Really Nifty Machine!
I won't attempt to compare this machine to the other brands out there, but I CAN attest to the fact that Flavia is darn good coffee. My office has the great big Flavia machine that automatically disposes of the used packs, and is plumbed for water. Right beside that machine we have a coffee maker that is only brewed with Starbucks. For the past three years, the Flavia machine is ALWAYS more popular. It's just fun to use also. For anyone considering the middle of the line SB100 machine, keep in mind that it does NOT handle multiple-pack brews. That means no creamy toppings. This machine comes with the Drinks Medley for $20 extra. I couldn't find the contents of that Medley anywhere, so here it is:2xHouse Blend2xHouse Blend (Decaf)2xColumbia (my personal favorite)2xSumatra2xRoasted Safari Nut2xFrench Vanilla2xHazelnut (Decaf)2xEspresso Roast2xChoco6xCreamy Topping2xEnglish Breakfast Tea2xGreen Tea2xRasberry Spark2xLemon Calm2xExotic Chai2xCaramel Syrup (very thin, sugary syrup)2xVanilla Syrup (very thin, sugary syrup)2xChoco Sprinkles (very tiny pack)2xCinamon Sprinkles (very tiny pack)You also get a Travel Mug (a standard-issue tall mug with no handles. Slider on top is not spring loaded. You could pick one up at the store for about $7).So, you get 34 brew packs worth about 45 cents each, plus the syrups and sprinkles (about $2 more), and the travel mug (worth about $7). That's about a $24 value for $20. The Medley is definitely NOT worth the normal price of $30.The Flavia does have one BIG downside (hence 4 stars) - there are very few places that carry the brew packs. Worse, most of the on-line stores can only sell to certain states per their agreement with Flavia. So, you may very well be forced to buy your refills from Flavia.net. A 'rail' of 20 coffee or tea packs runs about $8.50-9.50. The creamy topping is 25 cents a pack. Add shipping and tax, and that creamy cappuccino with sprinkles costs over a buck for a 7oz cup. The going rate at E-bay is 40 cents a pack before shipping. Once Amazon starts selling Flavia coffees, this machine will get 5 stars.UPDATE:I've made about a dozen cups of coffee with this machine. The adjustable height of the dispenser is really handy; if you lower till it touches the rim of your cup, there will be no splashing. You really should dab a paper towel underneath the dispenser after you use it (especially if you just used creamy topping or choco). I can see how the machine can get yucky if you don't do this. The machine IS surprisingly noisy, but only for about 15 seconds per cup. Flavia makes great brew packs - they do not leak when you remove the used ones. Of course, if you squeeze a used coffee pack, it will leak. The medley kit comes with a travel cup, yet the cup is too tall for the machine as pictured. You need to remove the overflow tray to make it fit. The travel cup holds 14 ounces (two brew packs worth) comfortably. If you are going to be buying disposable cups for this machine, I recommend getting 8 ounce and possibly 16 ounce cups. This way, you can keep the volume setting on the machine at 7 ounces, using one or two coffee packs, respectively. If you use your own coffee cups, you're going to have to constantly be changing the volume setting for different cups. We bought cheap styrofoam cups from our local warehouse store and keep a stack (with lids) nearby.
