Lorna McNessie – Sassy Photobombing Lassie
Lorna McNessie is the Daughter of the Loch Ness Monster, and a new exchange student at Monster High. Lorna has striking bright blue-green colored skin that has a slight shimmer. Her skin looks fantastic and perfectly complements her bright red wavy hair. Lorna has bright aqua colored eyes and bright coral colored lips that show the fangs on her lower jaw. Lorna has the best tail of any of the MH character. Hers is attached (unlike other tails), can be turned from side to side, and is especially swoopy. Her tail has multiple fins that imitate photographs of the Loch Ness Monster and her tail ends in a forked fin. When changing her outfit you will notice that Lorna’s torso is embossed with a Celtic knot design. This is a hidden detail – but so very cool! I love it when Monster High includes this kind of surprise on a doll. Lorna’s other monster attributes include scaled skin, webbed hands, fins on her forearms and lower legs, and ears that are finned shaped.Instead of a “diary” Lorna comes with a passport. Her passport describes her life in “Rotland”, including details of her family life and her love of photobombing. Lorna also has a small cardboard doll sized passport that fits perfectly into her handbag. Her red handbag opens, and is covered with more Celtic knot work and the image of a lake monster. Lorna is wearing a short sleeved red blouse with a black fish net print. Her kilt/skirt has a lake monster print in colors of red, blue and black. Lorna loves plaid, and she is wearing a plaid cap. On her feet are high heeled shoes with heels made of stacked gray castle stones. My favorite accessory Lorna has is the lake monster shaped earring she wears on her right ear.Lorna is a little smaller than most of the MH dolls. She is 14 years old, so she is the little sister size of Howleen, Twyla, and River Styxx. Lorna comes with the standard doll stand and hairbrush. I am a long time Loch Ness Monster fan, so I was super excited to add the wonderful Lorna to my doll collection. The designers did a great job of translating a famous lake monster into an adorable doll and Lorna McNessie is definitely one of my favorite Monster High characters. Like all MH dolls she has multiple points of articulation so she can be posed in many ways. She is made for play, but has small parts that could be lost or broken if she is not treated gently.Lorna is a great new character that will make a wonderful addition to any Monster High collection. I won’t spoil it for you - you will have to read her passport to find out about the Three-Eyed Dusky Dragon Owls. Look for her as part of the new “Monster Exchange” line of dolls.

Lorna fits in just swimmingly!
She's here! She's here! I've been awaiting Lorna since she was released! The shipping from Amazon got a bit botched on this one, but she still arrived before the "delivered by" date, so I can't fuss too much.As per the other Monster Exchange Program dolls, Lorna arrived in the new, mostly plastic box. I'm getting better at opening these boxes without destroying the artwork, but there's a trick to the tabs: give 'em a squeeze and they'll slide out much more easily! This release of Lorna, being her first, comes with her diary, a brush, and stand (as shown in the stock photo). Be careful when opening the box, the diary is tucked inside. You shouldn't need scissors at that point unless you're impatient, but be aware! Her diary is modelled after her passport, and printed with a teal and pink cover. The usual assortment of bands and straps keep her firmly in place! The doll herself is amazing! She has a slightly shimmery, glittery finish, and her hair has a gradient layering from ginger red to pale, peachy-pink. Her hair is a bit greasy feeling, but nothing a good styling won't fix.Her outfit is very, very in character for a Rotland monster; she wears a "plaid" wrapped skirt with Loch Ness Monster outlines and hearts, and chunky boots with a "castle stone" platform. She also is festooned with celtic knotwork motifs: her bag, belt, earring, and the scales on her belly all form similar motifs. She is also covered in watermonster appropriate traits, with fins galore! Her arms, ears, legs, and tail all have little fins, and her fingers are webbed between each finger. One thing about my Lorna which seems unusual: she rattles. There must have been a bit of loose plastic caught inside her during production, as I've never had this happen with another doll, but it's a bit funny. Overall, I think I have a new favourite ghoul, and I hope they release more versions of her in future!

Lorna from Rotland!
Lorna is ADORABLE and probably my favorite of the Monster Exchange Program line. She is shorter than the typical MH doll at about 9.75" and has arm and leg fins similar to Lagoona, but with the addition of a cool, short tail and all-over scales. Her non-scaly parts are also a bit glittery, which was odd at first, but looks pretty cool from far away. Her adorable outfit evokes stereotypical Scottish dress sense, with the kilt-like plaid skirt (that has the modern twist of picture panels), though I wish they had chosen a different color than cherry red since it kind of clashes with her fiery orange curls. One other thing I was not super excited about was her tiny little plaid beret pinned to her hair - I did not think it was appropriate, given the volume of her updo, and also again the red color kind of blends into her orange hair so you do not really even notice it until you are up close. She would have done better with a cute clip-on hair barrette like Draculaura's in a color that would stand out.And her diary is actually modeled to resemble a passport (from "Rotland") with a color passport photo and biographical info on the first page, along with entries about her travel abroad.Still, overall, she is a FANGtastically cute doll that you should not hesitate to scoop up!
