Easy once you figure out how to connect, read below
1. Close App2. Open phone bluetooth menu3. Connect OBD2 adapter to car, make sure you see a red power light. I didn't need to have the keys in the ignition for it to power on4. Search for adapter in phone bluetooth menu, connect to wsiiroon5. Open Torque app6. Go to settings, obd2 settings, connection method, select bluetooth7. Click fault codes, show logged faults8. Google search code to your vehicle year, make, model9. If you think you fixed the issue go back to fault codes and clear faults. While driving keep an eye for "pending faults". If you see something there may be a Check Engine Light after you start your car 2 or 3 more times.

Does the job wel but i recommend the wifi version
I bought this obd2 bluetooth adapter because it seemed like decent quality and a good price. I have no regrets about it, works very well. The only thing is, i should have bought the wifi version instead. Because if you connect your phone with bluetooth to this adapter you can't connect to your car audio system anymore. The wifi version would solve this problem: https://amzn.to/2XVjooRI use this obd2 adapter with the app revheadz to generate artificial engine sound through my car speakers so now i have to pair my phone with the aux cable instead. The applications of an obd2 adapter are really endless. Works great for reading errors and resetting them (you can use this app for that: https://amzn.to/2Y3WJSn). Torque is also a handy app which gives you alternative engine and car information displays. I have seen some people even do modifications to their car with an obd2 adapter like this. (You can use apps like obdeleven for that)

Not user friendly
While most other Chinese-sourced ELM327 protocol bluetooth readers are pretty much plug-and-play, this one is not. You have to enable the device each time you want to use it. This leads to problems during a road test diagnostic - you don't want to take your eyes off the road as you try to get it reconnected when it disconnects.I would avoid this one.

Good value for the price
Works great for troubleshooting and reading codes. I use the torque app.

Does not work for most US car models
Do not buy this product! Does not support any Dodge products, Ford products with a V-8. Was totally useless for me. Plus not able to clear engine light!
