are the holes inthe top large enough to fit your project back through so everything is in one bag safe and sound?

Depends on the project, how much yarn your carrying! There is 2 slots on each side of the handle about 6 inches long. I'd say yes on a smaller project. Scarves and things.

I'm not sure I have a different variety of this an I wasn't thrilled with it mine didn't stand up properly especially the dividers

Is the four way divider removable to fit large projects?

Yes, the divider is kept in place with Velcro. Keep in mind, Velcro can damage yarn stored in the bag. For that reason, I do not remove the divider.
