3pc Brass Garden Hose End Repair Kit - with extra washers
Good purchase. The brass seems to be high quality (nice weight). They feel like they will last a long time (but I can't speak to longevity yet). The washers also seem to be good quality. I used my own hose clamps. I purchased 3/4" size to repair 5/8" hose. These performed exactly as intended -- turned 1 long hose into 2 shorter hoses. The 3/4" barbs are snug in my heavy-duty 5/8" hose, but did not require heating the hose. I like the snug fit. I needed to tighten the hose clamp a bit more after 2nd use. Since then -- no problem. The clamp is located immediately next to the fitting, so you need to be a bit careful when attaching to your hose bib or nozzle.

Couldn't be happier
It was a cold day when I tried to install the first one and as expected, it was very difficult getting the hose around the brass sleeve. Fortunately a little soap on the end of the hose helped it slide in and the clamp held tight with no leaks. It was warmer day when I installed the second and third fittings and that went much easier. Just to make sure the clamps were nice and tight I used a socket set instead of a screw driver and have not had any leaks. I'm really happy that I purchased the brass fittings because the feel nice and strong and I'm not worried about galling.

Good quality does the job for a perfect fit.
I was almost dissuaded by the reviews that said the sizing was off. It is not. These are the perfect item to salvage a hose with degraded couplers. Solid brass, built to last. Very content with this purchase. Two thumbs up.

5/8" hose fittings that fit
Perfect fit for a 5/8” I.D. (internal diameter) hose.Most hose end fittings sold are listed as fitting multiple sizes, such as 5/8" & 3/4” and they will not fit correctly.

It works, easy to use but has issue
The metal strip keeps hanging open which is injury hazard. It also started rusting after few days.

Get the 3/4" for 5/8" ID hose.
Glad I read reviews on this item. Had 5/8 ID hose that needed both ends replaced reviews said to get the 3/4" worked good.
