I'm Disappointed.
I've really held off a while on writing this review because I thought maybe I could adapt and get used to it but it hasn't happened. I've been using this bible for close to 4 months and in my opinion this is a "note takers" worst nightmare bible. I really like to write in my bible, anything from definitions to cross references, another translation of a verse or quotes, but this bible has been more of a hindrance than a help. Sure there's a lot of blank space on the bottom and the edge of the page. However everything else is cramped, you can't write in between lines or columns. It make it more difficult to write sentences or even a few words because you can't always write what you want next to a verse or on top of a word (like in between the lines.) I've only used study bibles before that I really marked up, one that was bigger and another that was more compact but both were easier to write in than this has been.I gave it three stars because not everyone writes in their bible the same. You may read this and see that it would be perfect for you're style. However I wish I would have got something else.Another thing aside from all that, aesthetically I was disappointed because it really shouldn't be called duo tone, the difference in color on the cover is hardly noticeable, the picture is deceiving.

Nice Bible!
I really like this Bible! The pages are not like the typical thin tissue paper-like paper, it is sturdier and feels more like regular paper. While my ink (regular gel pen) markings are still visible on the opposite side, it's not as much like other bibles I've had. (I don't know about highlighter markers, I don't use highlighters when taking notes). It is indeed like a typical Zondervan thinline Bible that has wider margins. I like the wide margins for writing notes, the lay-flat design is helpful for notes. Although writing notes on the binding side is not as easy. If I could have one thing different, it would probably be to center the text on the page so it would leave room for notes for both columns of text. It is standard print as advertised. As a matter of fact, the page numbers are the exact same as they are in my previous Zondervan Thinline Bible. The cover feels nice and soft, and as another reviewer said, it's not really duo-tone as much as it is duo-texture. The whole book feels like it's good quality for being imitation leather.

Old-School is Still Best
I absolutely love this format! If you are a note-taker, I cannot tell you how badly you need this Bible. I will try, however. I'm old-school when it comes to notes in the margin of my Bible. I have an i-pad, a smartphone and a laptop, but I don't bring any of that with me to church, and when I study the Word at home, I do so exclusively from the PRINTED Word. Technology just doesn't cut it for me when reading my Bible. So when I take notes, I like to be able to refer back to what the text was saying to me at the time; something that's lost, even if you take notes on a .doc journal. Lots of margin room, handsome cover (though, if you've read any of my other reviews, you probably know that I immediately made my own cover) and that good ol' page-flipping sound. I love this Bible. It is my go-to.Let me know if this review helped in your purchase. Thanks! -Nater

Lots of room for notes & the amplified is underrated!
Haven't used it much yet but I was reading the amplified on my bible app all the time. I really enjoy the room on the side of the page for writing (it's not lined, just blank). The font is a little smaller than I'd like but it's not a big deal. Very clean read with the new books starting on their own pages. Thanks for making! The amplified is SO underrated and it's nice when you've grown up reading the same versions your whole life to get some reading with fresh eyes. The amplified really elaborates on the language in a trustworthy manor. We seem to lose the abundance of greek/hebrew when translating to english & this translation is the solution :)

It is a very nice bible. Although the margins are wider than a regular bible, they are not wide enough for the purpose for which I bought it. My daughter, who is an amazing Mangaka, needs a wider margin for her drawings. The side margin is 1 1/4" and the bottom margin is 1 3/8". However, the bible may be suitable to use for notes only, even though it does not have lines. My only other issue is that only the dust jacket has the blue color. The actually hardback of the bible is black. I will say that, if Amazon would post pictures of the inside of the bible, I may not have made this purchased and now have to go through the trouble of returning it. This is a lesson learned.

Great Note-taking/journaling bible
Ordered this Bible to aid in sermon notes at church and to attempt bible journaling. First thing is the bible came in very quickly and in tip top shape, no scratches in leather or torn pages. The margins are on the top and the side with plenty of space for notes. I would like a little more room on the side for journaling. Finally the pages of the bible aren't the thickness I'd prefer, but definitely aren't too thin. Overall, I'd purchase this product again and recommend it to others.

Does NOT lay flat
If you do not care if this Bible lays flat, then I think this will be a great Bible for you. I wanted a lay flat Bible plus the extra note taking room. But this Bible only lays flat in the middle. I had to hold it open to read it and it was pressing against me the whole time to close. I genuinely wanted a NASB Bible that lays flat. I saw that the font was size 8, but I wasn't exactly sure if that would work for me and it is small. I wear reading glasses which helps, but it is small.

I like this Bible in that it provides larger margins for note taking that a standard Bible but the margins are still kind of small. I would like more space to write - especially when I am taking notes from a sermon that has several points. It is well constructed and the print was a decent size making it easy to read. I am mostly satisfied with the purchase and felt that the item was reasonably priced.

Disappointed
Not quite as I had hoped. The print size was very small, and the size of the bible was not as I had hoped.

Smaller margins than I expected
It's a hard cover, double column bible. I love that it's bright white paper, something different from the usual cream paper. The margins are about 1.25"x 1.25" for journaling. I do find the margins a little small for my needs so I will need to find a different one with bigger margins next time.

Superb note taker. The paper is thick, and the binding will last for decades. See a thorough review by Bible Buying Guide (google it) to see images.Personally, I loved it. A great edition of the Bible if you love to take brief notes.
