Vax VCS-01 Floor Sweeper, Black/Orange

What a fantastic piece of kit at an affordable price. Due to age and a deteriorating body, think Arthritis, having to sweep the drive and patio used to be a right pain. Now with this bit of kit, cheaper than the yellow one, I can clear the patio etc in a more civilised fashion. Is it easy to use? It does require a bit of effort but nothing like the continuous bending down with brush and shovel. You have to change the height of the brushes to cater for both the conditions and yourself it takes about five minutes to find the height that is right for you. Emptying is easy. Is it perfect? no but it is cheaper than paying someone else to do it. The only drawback for me is the handles do not increase in height which is where the height adjustment comes in so you can push with ease. I have no regrets in buying this it has made my life a lot easier which was the aim of the purchase.

This product actually didn’t suit my garden as I have artificial grass as well as pavement slabs.I would like to believe it works excellent on very flat surfaces, however my 20m2 paved garden is not flat enough especially in the corners where most of the rubbish tends to fall.Also I noticed that it was a little loud as you drag it because of the wheels and brushes but that is probably inevitable with any sweeper.In the end I decided to get a separate cheap hoover to ensure all cigarette butts and smaller rubbish could be eliminated from the area.I live in a flat where I have a private garden, however there are balconies above and I receive all sorts of small rubbish like sweet wrappers etc.This is just my honest review as I really couldn’t afford to spend over £45 on keeping my garden clean, however in my situation I had to opt for a hoover and only use it on dry days obviously.

This is one of the best purchases I've ever made! I was wasting few hours every time when I was trying to clean my driveway and paths in the garden. My hands and back were sore after fighting with huge wooden broom. Plus when is windy, this can be real Sisyphean labour...I tried this sweeper just after unpacking (it is huge like lawn mover!) and still I can't believe that after 10 min the job was done, when previously it was taking me over 1 hour to clean driveway and areas! It is like hoovering the path, so easy and nice to use. Also the sweeper look cute to me with these orange fluffy bristles. I am thinking about sticking on this cute guy giant wiggly eyes lol :D

Does a relatively good job of cleaning up light debris in the garden. As long as the debris is not in piles it will gather it up. Needs to be used in straight lines for it to be effective. The surface needs to be even for it to gather up the debris. The dirt pan is large.

Wow. The sweeper is a game changer when it comes to cleaning up the garden and large driveway. I was sick and tired of manually sweeping the floor only to watch the wind undo all my hard work. Purchased this sweeper to remove the autumn leaf fall. The leaves are from a horse chestnut so they are large. Manages with no problem. Have since used on twigs and wet leaves with great success. The handle feels flimsy but is adequate for the job. Only gripe is it rides very low to the ground so snags on uneven patio slabs.

This is a fantastic - we get leaves falling continuously off neighbours tree - it sweeps them up easily - and yes you have to keep it on a straight line - but great - love this. We have an artificial lawn and it spruces it up lovely.

it did not do what i had hoped to clear hedge clippings but worked as a general sweeper

This sweeper is amazing. I used to spend hours keeping our front driveway clear of debris and leaves the old fashioned way - Broom, Pan & Brush - BACK ACHE! Not any more - Just need to glide this sweeper over the driveway and every thing get sucked up with no effort whatsoever. Wish I bought one years ago. Highly Highly RECOMMENDED.
