8GB (2x4GB) DDR2-800 SODIMM Laptop Memory PC2-6400 for Dell Inspiron 1545

Worked perfectly for my laptop.

I wanted to upgrade the laptop from 4 gb to 8 gb. I inserted these memory DIMMS and did extensive tests on them and there were no problems with them. It seemed odd that all the tests would only test 4 gb. However, it was discovered that the advanced BIOS would only allow 4mb, so I had to replace the memory with the old memory. The return of the 8 gb DIMMS was exceptionally quick and easy.

Trying to breathe a bit of life into an old and slow laptop, I decided to replace the hard drive and add more memory to see if I could extend its life. The combination worked wonders. The laptop is now a breeze to use. Memory gave me no install issues and has worked great so far.

At first it did not pick up one of the memory banks, so I removed them and swapped positions and Windows 10 picked it right up. This memory along with a SSD drive make this old laptop usable again! I've been using the memory for about a week with no issues. I definitely see a difference with the added memory. I'm planning on buying again for another laptop.

I am very happy with this purchase. The RAM easily installed and worked with my laptop. The vendor provided provided information on how to install the RAM and gave additional assurance that if there was any problems, they would be happy to provide additional assistance. Having an older laptop gave me reservations towards buying other, more expensive RAM, the price for this item made it the better choice and I am experiencing no performance issues.

Edit 5-17-20 : The laptop, though not my daily driver anymore, is still chugging. One of the ram sticks, unfortunately, is not. I started having random freezing in windows 10 for weeks and finally ran a system check and one of the sticks failed the memory test. Put in my old 2 gb stick and bam, it was back up and running but with only 6 gb of ram. This happend a couple years ago. I felt the need to update and give a one start because of their bargain bin randomly paired ram sticks.I found this RAM to be the cheapest deal around for my Dell Inspiron 1545 and despite the few reviews it had, I decided to take a chance with it. When it got it, it was nicely packaged and the anti static bag was sealed. I sat down, grounded myself, and got to work. Immediately after installation I was getting memory errors. I swapped slots, tried each stick alone and determined one stick to be bad. The seller was quick to respond and sent my new stick out as soon as they received the dead one. I was disappointed to find out my new stick was of a different brand. I was aware that initially I could receive memory sticks of a few different brands but both sticks initially were of the same brand. I don't like the idea of having two different brands of RAM in my computer. I did give the item three stars because the seller was prompt in replacement and the two different RAM sticks do work. I recommend spending an extra 30 dollars and purchasing from another seller on here whose memory has 4.5 stars out of 2000 reviews and possibly avoid having to go through the trouble of returning non-working items.
