Astini Colonial Antique Bronze & White Ceramic Handle Kitchen Sink Mixer Tap

Fitted the tap today which was a straightforward job. It’s really good looking and seems to be very good quality. It’s solid and very sturdy , much better than the previous one installed which cost double the price. It’s fitted over a double sink and I really like the fact the bend in the neck (I’m sure there’s a technical term for it!) is much deeper than my old tap so it sits really nicely over both sinks. Obviously I can’t comment on longevity but I’m delighted with it thus far and it’s a great buy.

The spout flew off after five month's of use due to the poor design of the plastic ring and screw mechanism that holds it on. Had to duct tape the spout back on. But it was replaced very promptly and we are very happy with the replacement, even though we choose exactly the same tap again - because it's actually a very nice tap. Guess we were just unlucky!

This tap was just what I was looking for and exceptional value compared to similar ones they were selling in the kitchen showroom where we bought our kitchen (less than a third of the price). They are good heavy quality and look amazing in our new kitchen. Highly recommended.

large solid looking tap, very impressed when first fitted but after a week the brass coating has peeled off where the cold tap joins the main body leaving a rusty looking patch. Very disappointing in such a short time. Other than that the tap works ok

Sold as suitable for low pressure systems and as a kitchen tap, however this will not work with low pressure hot water (open vented) hot water systems as with both hot and cold taps on cold water is forced back up the hot water feed (cold water to kitchen taps is always fed directly from the incoming water main, not the storage tank in the loft). This makes it impossible to regulate teh water temperature and could leadd to the water tanks in the loft overflowing if left running.I bought the tap as in the picture it is shown with a spout similar to the tap it is replacing which has separate channels for hot and cold, so the two feeds are not mixed until the water flows out of the spout. The tap supplied has a different spout fitted without the separate channels so hot and cold are mixed in the body of the tap, hence the problem.If you are looking for a low pressure tap, this is NOT SUITABLE, as you will almost certainly have a high pressure cold feed in your kitchen.Fine for combi boilers or pressurised systems.

Great tapes easy to install and look good

This is a gorgeous tap but there is a bit of rusting near where the tap handles fix into the rest of the unit.
