Squatty Potty Kids Step Stool with Locking Riser for Additional Height - Pup Dog Style

At first our 3-year-old daughter hated it and would scream in absolute terror when we put her on the potty with it, but she gradually got used to it. It comes with that red hat part, which brings the legs up really high. The red part was just a little too much for our daughter, it seems. When we took off the red part, she did pretty well with just the brown dog part. We had tried EVERYTHING, and once we got this potty and she got used to it, things just went so smoothly (literally). I should also point out that I also started being vigilant about giving my daughter Miralax every day, so that probably helped with the transition. But I had been somewhat consistent with the MIralax before, and it had never worked previously. This Squatty Potty is worth every penny and more. The only con is if the child is afraid to have their legs up so high. We just kind of forced her to sit there, making sure to hold her to make her feel safe. Now she goes on it by herself with no problem.

My little has trouble with constipation sometimes. Poor little buddy would hide and do everything possible to keep from 'going.' We hated seeing him in pain and squeezing his little booty, so we started pretending to be frogs in order to get things moving. It helped but now that he is tall enough, this Squatty Potty is a life saver. The 'hat' is definitely necessary to get the correct height but I would steer clear of it when using it as a step stool, it doesn't clip on well enough and could be dangerous.

This stool has been a big hit with our boys! Not only has it helped them sit comfortably while using the bathroom, but it's been a nice step up for my younger boys who're potty training. One of my favorite features is the height that the hat attachment allows. Prior to the squatty potty, my husband and I always had to go in the bathroom to assist our kids with washing hands. With that hat on, the boys can easily reach the sink.

I love this stool because its playfully engaging and gives my son a sense of independence that he needs during this potty training phase. He can climb up to gain access to his potty topper on the big toilet and its light enough that he can move it himself to the sink to wash his hands. Love! Love! I almost bought a plain stool. So glad I found this!

I'm disappointed in the red hat attachment because it does not latch very well! Every time my daughter tries to pick the stool up to put it in front of the toilet or sink the red hat part unlatches from the stool! It should have a better locking mechanism. My daughter likes to be independent and move it herself but I always have to fix the top to be sure it's properly attached to avoid it coming apart before she steps on it. The dog stool itself is nice for the potty but the hat attachment is needed to reach the sink to wash hands...

This is perfect because it allows for our daughter to reach the sink to wash her hands and brush her teeth. The only downfall is there are no grips. Sometimes when she leans on it, it slides a bit. No accidents but it makes me nervous. Great potty stool though.

My boy loves the puppy design and I love how it comes with the hat for added height! My boy is small so it is the only stool that helped him reach the toilet! Now for potty training to start!
