Solid Bargain
Wanted a dumb 55" TV and there are not many to choose from. Have had good success with Hitachi products before so I went for it. Would have loved an HDR model but not in the budget and chances are a dumb one would be impossible to find. Anyway set it up and out of the box I was somewhat impressed. The sound is about average for a flat screen but that will be remedied by my stereo or a sound bar in the near future. The picture looked a little unsettled at first but after playing around with the picture settings I was able to improve it dramatically. The color is very nice. After the TV goes through it's paces for 2 weeks I will be calibrating it and I expect the picture to improve substantially. I would certainly have liked to have gone for a Sony Bravia but for half the price this is a solid TV for this non-videophile.
