Honeywell ST799

I bought it as a replacement for the ST699 which is identical but uses the same timings for every day of the week - this one enables you to set the on/off time to be different for each day. Fitting it in place of the ST699 couldn't be easier - it takes less than 30 seconds to unplug the old unit and push fit the new unit, and then you have to set the time and the on/off timings. I think this will give me savings on my heating bills. However, it isn't ideal. It costs much more than the Drayton LP722 and if you can pluck up courage to work out how to wire the Drayton you get several features that aren't present on the Honeywell, namely (a) 3 periods per day instead of 2 (b) ability to set different periods for heating and hot water, not use the same on/off times for both (c) ability to set an extra hour or two hours or three hours of heating or hot water.

Very simple and easy to fit. Works with a default timer setup until you programme it with the times you want. Shame you can't set the water and heating for different lengths of time, but at least the week and weekend timings can be different which is better than the ST699.

Bought it to replace previous one that expired. This is now installed and working perfectly.

The ST799 replaced a 25 year old ST798 central heating timer that had failed. It fitted directly into the old back box with no modification. The 799 was an upgrade allowing daily timing. The unit arrived very quickly at a competitive price. Although this unit was a modern unit, the quality of build was lower than that of the original unit, the alignment of the sliders with the fixed lines was not precise. This seems to be common with a lot of modern equipment, efficiency savings seem to go too far sometimes.

Refreshing to be able to buy a direct replacement for a really old controller. Installation easy - baseplate still the same as older models. Easy to programme and gives all the control needed.

works well and gets time to being used to did not work at first but put itself right in the long run. cheaper then anywhere else where I tried to buy this make and very hard to get in most stores, as they do not sell this product.

Got it to replace my existing programmer on my Rayburn 480K Mk 1. Good product with excellent service.
