American Furniture Classics Model 100 The Gunfather Clock

The box it was packed in looked like it had been used as a trampoline - I opened it in the foyer - as I was fearful it was damaged. The clock was in pristine condition - perfect - with not a scratch, dent, or even a smudge. I examined every piece carefully. The packing they used was huge chunks of solid Styrofoam. In addition each piece was wrapped in a separate sheet of foamy fabric. I was so relieved. This is a gift for my husband and I really worried because of the reviews about shipping damage. I will update this when I assemble it - but, right now I have to keep it hidden till Christmas Eve. I am sending this now before Christmas in case someone else it on the fence like I was. It is a beautiful piece for the cost and I can't wait till he sees it. If it had not been packaged the way it was - it would have arrived as splinters. So grateful that the packing method protected it.

It is very cheaply made. It's not worth $400.00 it's more like a $99.99 item. Even though when it finally arrived it was broken and we had to do a lot of repairs on it. The first one didn't even arrive amazon had to re ship it to me. But it's now displayed in the living room and nobody notices that it is a gun case.

Everything bad you read is true. When I received it the base was broken (more like shattered); the balsa wood back panel cracked and ripped; and the clock didn't even work. But one thing is certain, it is a beautiful piece of furniture which had potential. So,I went to the hobby shop for a new clock piece, bought a piece of sheet metal for a back panel, rebuilt the base with Gorilla Glue and brackets. I also put a shelf in behind the clock face since it was wasted space and refinished the entire thing. Now its sturdy, secure, and worth the $350.If you can find this clock for $100 or less and handy enough to fix it the way the mfgr should have, go ahead and get it, otherwise you're being ripped-off. Seriously. What are they thinking? The way I see it they owe me $300.00.I don't care who makes it, don't care who sells it - I will NEVER buy anything from American Furniture Classics again. Ever. Its inexcusable for anyone to sell a piece of crap like this. Throwing the entire lot in the trash will be cheaper for them than the terrible publicity they'll have from dumping them on an unsuspecting market... and I'm being extremely nice about it.DON'T BUY IT!

I got what I paid for. Worried about damage, as the box was rough, but the clock was in pristine condition. The door is thin, but finish is pretty. There is no lock to the face of the clock, and you can open it up and reach down to the inside of the main door and open the lock from the inside. It stores the guns well and upright. I am overall pleased with it and for keeping hidden out of the way, is a good alternative to a closet. It does not take the place of a sturdy, bolt down gun safe ,however, when it comes to anti-theft, child safety, etc.

Love the grandfather clock look. Like how you can put things inside. Well made. This is the second one I bought. Both of them were Christmas gifts to my boys and they love it.

The guns came in to the upper part were there is no lock. It need to be taller and locks on all doors

This clock is beautiful, don't hesitate to order this lovely piece of furniture! I had a problem with a few dings on the front door panel and emailed them, they responded the next day and immediately shipped me a new front door panel! Great customer service!

I ordered on the 16th and received on the 20th, the box did not look damaged. I was careful when starting opening and noticed it was in pieces never took it out of box, and sent in request for return. waiting on response from seller. I like the concept and i intend to update when this is resolved. It was a 5 star yesterday,
