As a 76 year old with familial high cholesterol, I have used this product about 15 years, along with two other family members who have also kept their laboratory results within normal ranges using this product. Niacin acts by dilating the blood vessels which can cause flushing, and Rugby Niacin has a time release tablet which delivers the niacin slowly over time, so the body eventually adjusts and flushes become minimal or disappear. My doctor is happy with the results and I have not experienced the problematic symptoms found with use of the chemical cholesterol medications. The size of the tablets in high doses is large but I have no problem swallowing them, and the tablets are smaller in lesser doses. Rugby has been a reliable pharmaceutical, and is extremely cost effective for those who use niacin to control cholesterol.Amazon's 3-pack is a great convenience.

good price, little big pill, only need to take one twice a day. so overall not a bad deal May say timed release, but it's not. I did get the flushing but last 45-60 minutes..Taken niacin for so long don't think will be a problem. Once my system get used to the niacin the flushing will stop. so even with the minor flushing I'll still take the niacin.

These are cheaper then Express Scripts. Same dosage and quality.

Flushing on some pills are not consistent. Some days, flushing and itching are immediate. Other days, they are all at once a few hours later.

Huge cap but no flush which is awesome

Nicotinic acid is the same in any number of brands including Niaspan. This replaced Niaspan about 10 years ago when Abbvie was price gouging us for about $600 per 30 day supply compared with $8-9 for a different delivery. Welcome to America and the codified price gouging by PhRMA.I still get the occasional flush like your skin is on fire but this occurs maybe 3 times per year.

I couldn't use this product, I had a severe allergic reaction to it. For a few hours, My skin was burning up, itchy throat, arms, legs. I couldn't sit or lay down due the discomfort on my arms and legs. The throat was the scariest sensation. Unfortunately the product can't be returned and I only used one tablet.

This was the brand my pharmacist ordered for me originally, so I ordered it at a higher dose in a 3-pack. I’ve discovered niacin is important for many deficiency-caused ailments, so I’m really pleased to to have my doctor take me off my blood pressure meds, cholesterol is normal and I’m no longer achy and stiff in all my joints at 68. This was less then half what I paid for 1 bottle of half the dose. I am very pleased with the price, delivery was faster than predicted.
