Perfect for kids' curiosity from the outside to inside
I read the comment about this not being appropriate for kids, and my opinion is the opposite. I got this anatomy book so my boys would know where to go for an appropriate place when they are curious about their bodies and nudity. I feel we do a huge diservice to kids about curiosity of bodies and nudity when they're young, then we avoid the topic and just let them "discover" it on their own when they're older, usually through pornography. Not scientific or informative at all! I feel we need more exposure to it in a scientific and artistic setting, so they don't go looking online or hearing it from inappropriate sources. I say if nudity is shown in a respectful (usually artistic) or scientific way, then it's okay and should be appreciated. The nude woman under Nervous System has very faint nipples and the pubic area is barely shaded. I feel this is perfect for kids. There is also a blank, white 3D figure of a male and female front and back with minimal detail the first page after Contents. It goes over all the basic systems with some writing but mostly pictures, so again, perfect for younger kids who are very curious about everything about the body.

Great intro to anatomy for a young reader
My 7-year-old son is very inquisitive, so I bought this for him and he loves it. He has read it a few times over now. He enjoys teaching his father and me about things he has learned from the book. My favorite part of the book is that it uses technical terms for body parts which helps a child learn in a healthy and non-judgemental environment. My favorite is when he came to me with the book and had me explain how he fit in my uterus and how in the world did the doctors take him out with his big head. He was very serious and concerned that it had to of hurt me. A close second was when he came to me very seriously, and described in detail while pointing to the pictures, how gas occurred and what paths it could take to exit the body (which is a huge accomplishment for a 7 year-old boy)This book has started my son on a path of learning about all of the things that make little boys giggle and how somethings are natural and occur in everyone. It also has given him a starting place to ask questions and gain useful information about how to look at and treat his body in a positive manner.

Bought for my 7 year old
My little boy has been asking serious questions about how his body works since he was 5. I answered as best as I could but I just didn't know all the names and details and descriptions that I would love to give him so I started looking for a body book. He is 7 now and loves to read but I wanted to find him a good book that he wouldn't grow out of quickly or that gave short vague answers. After reading many of the reviews I thought this book looked like the one to go with. I bought it for him and gave it to him as part of his Easter present along with a bunch of other things for our upcoming summer road trip (that was the Easter theme this year). He looked through it a little bit but wasn't all that interested with all the other festivities that were happening that day.I know that he will really get into it on our trip when he has to just sit in the car for 5,000 miles. It will be a great supplement to all the 'screen' time he will be getting too. I am also sure his two older sisters will be doing some of the reading in it as well. Thanks to all the reviewers!!

Teaching 3 generations.....
I remember my mom having this book back in the 90's when she was preparing to go to nursing school. Last month (2015) I visited her and saw it. I begged her for the book for my kids (one of which loves the human body and wants to be a doctor) and she wouldn't let me have it because she said she still uses it (even after being a nurse for all these years). And it's in great shape still! So I bought my own.My daughter stepped on something and cut the bottom of her toe. While preparing for her checkup (she's a Doc McStuffins fan) we looked at the book and she was able to learn about her foot, her skin, and why she saw blood. I LOVE this book! When my kids grow up and visit me with their kids and beg for mine, I hope this book is still in print (otherwise I'll have to give them mine :D ).

Great condition, and product
Arrived in good time and in good condition too. The book is quite thin though, in terms of content so it would be nicer if it was more in depth. Great introduction for someone planning on taking STEM/Bio/pre-med classes, or young students. Not sure if graduate students will find this beneficial, but maybe good for review.

One of the Best Books on Human Anatomy
This is the best simple, straight-forward human anatomy book out there. This books uses a combination of real images and realistic looking models to showcase the human body, and its various systems. The images are large and positioned front and center, which draws the interest and attention of children and adults alike.Although the book does show images of penises and vaginas, they are only shown in the context of human anatomy (the body, the urinary system, reproductive systems, and pregnancy) as is appropriate for a book on anatomy. There are no depictions or descriptions of sex, making this book appropriate for all ages.I loved this book as a child, and I bought one for my daughter so she can love it as well.
