I recently moved to a new place. I've had to find new furniture, lights/lamps, home office necessities, etc.That's a lot of work right?Here's the shocker - the most difficult thing of all was finding a decent bath rug! I tried so many different brands and rugs, and they all just looked terrible, felt terrible on your feet, seemed low quality, etc. I don't know what it is about bath rug industry, but there's just a lot of junk out there. The rugs you find in the large department stores are particularly bad.It took me 4 months to find the perfect bath rug - this one!I'm so glad I stumbled on it, and I can't believe I'm so geeked out about a bath rug.It looks great on the floor (I got 2 different colors - white and charcoal - for 2 different bathrooms, and both work well; if you're unsure about color, my guess is that the charcoal color is more likely to match popular bathroom color schemes than the pure white... also note, some people feel the charcoal has a dark navy blue appearance - either way, it just looks awesome), it feels great, and guests ask about it.I initially found this bath rug by searching Amazon and looking for well-reviewed bath rugs. It so happened that soon after, I was at a party at a friend's place and saw he had this bath rug, and it seemed to be as great as people were saying on Amazon. So I bought one. And I'm glad I did.My friend is a smart guy, and I feel like this is the bath rug for people who make smart buys. I can't recommend it more.In terms of pricing, I found this in some local stores, and Amazon's pricing was very competitive; I expect to buy another one soon, and I plan to use Amazon to buy it. I believe some of the colors are priced slightly differently - some are a bit cheaper, so if you're more price conscious than color conscious, be sure to consider all your options. That said, for a few extra bucks, it's worth getting a color you'll love. It's true that some other bath rugs are cheaper - but I have no doubt this is the best value because I expect it to last for a long time and I plan to keep it for a long time.It's simply an outstanding and delightful product.

I bought this in two colors - purple and white - and I struggled whether to give this item 5 stars (for the purple) or 1 star (for the white). I decided on 1 star due to the lack of consistency between the products and to draw other potential buyers' attention to the inconsistencies. My wife had bought the purple one first, and was VERY happy with it. To my wife's dismay, I tend to bring a LOT of water out of the shower with me when I step out, and our bath mats are always soaked because of that and take forever to dry. The wife marveled that after I got out of the shower, the purple mat barely felt damp. She then ordered two white ones, since she was going for a more neutral look in the master bath. Right away we could tell that the quality was not the same. The purple mat was thick and sturdy and absorbed water exceptionally well. The white mats were much floppier, flimsier, and cheaper feeling, and somehow difficult to get to lay in a perfect rectangle because of the flimsiness - a problem we didn't have with the purple one. I could have lived with that if it absorbed water as well as the purple, but it's not even close. These mats feel wet and stay that way for hours. I have no idea how the same product in different colors can be so drastically different. If we had bought the white ones first, we wouldn't have bought the purple one, assuming that it would have been the same poor quality. There was another reviewer here who also bought white mats, and she posted pictures of how the mats would not lay straight in a perfect rectangle and as a result it just looked like they were cut crooked - I think she and I received the same mat. DO NOT PURCHASE THE WHITE MATS!!!

I felt like Goldilocks looking for a bath mat -- too small, too large, ugly colors, etc. I was so pleased when I got this mat -- I finally found the "just right" mat. The only thing that keeps me from completely loving it is that when I wash it, it takes about 4 or 5 days to air dry. Per the instructions, the mat should be washed separately, line dried, no fabric softener, do not wring. Maybe my washer just has a lousy spin cycle, but this mat comes out sopping wet. I gently squeeze out as much water as I can, but takes days to dry. Otherwise, love the size, feel and color of this bath mat.

Hey, it's just a bath rug, but I like it very much. As a matter of fact, when I go into the bathroom I look at the rug and think... good choice. It always looks good. I get out of the shower and stand on the rug, and when I walk off, it looks the same, very sturdy. I'm about to buy one for two more bathrooms, even though they don't really need a new one.Added 9-22: My cat is usually sleeping next to my pillow when I'm in bed, or sleeping on his own bed, or a people bed during the day - typical cat thing. Well, now he's found this rug and all has changed. He still has all kinds of comfy spots in the house, but most often, I find him on the bathroom floor sleeping on the rug. I'm about to buy him his very own :)

Some reviews stated the edges were not straight. I am not sure if its the sewing or just the way the mat lays as it is stretchy. But it is hard to get it to lay in a perfect regular position. My cat also seems to like lounging on the mat (I saw other reviewers mention their cat liking it). It is very soft and comfortable, looks nice (even though it doesn't lay straight) perhaps a non-slip under mat would help that issue. Have not washed yet so no comment on how it holds up with washing or extended use. Color is much like a cream/ivory.
