Brookstone - Pure-Ion Bedroomâ„¢ Air Purifier and Humidifier

I purchased this air purifier 5 years ago and would purchase it again. A lot of reviewers complained about the crackling sound it makes....have patience, this sound is the purifier doing it’s job. That crackling sound is the impurities in the room being zapped away. It was and can be annoying, but it just means that the unit need to be cleaned by either dusting or vacuuming the housing unit or the removable filter needs to be cleaned. It will take a while to get all the impurities out of the air in your room. It’s also important to keep the room well dusted and vacuumed.We run ours continuously. I love that the filter can be put in the dishwasher for cleaning. The on/off button will flash when it needs cleaning. I usually dust out the housing unit every week or so. If you

Sorry, but NO I didn't like it at all. I talked with someone from Brookstones in Nashua before I purchased it and he assured me it would NOT leave a white dust in my home. But after a week of running it, my home was covered in that white dust. I even took pictures in case you needed to see them. Would NEVER purchase one of these again. I LOVE Brookstones and have shopped there plenty of times and also LOVE Amazon but this product is terrible in my opinion. I sent it back a couple of weeks ago and I am STILL WAITING to be credited for it.

Seems to filter out small dust and particles, but very slow. Also, larger debris like hair causes unit to pop and crackle randomly due to static charge buildup and discharge (like a bug zapper). It becomes very annoying and will keep you up at night if in the same room with you. You have to keep the plates clean as well as the 2 nylon strings inside the case. I think these strings provide the static charge for the plates.

This creates a fine white dust all over if you don't use distilled water.

It makes a loud crack noise every the filter is on and yes I do clean it weekly. I say it is over priced but I like the two in one feature.

This works great for us. We love the 2 large chambers for water so you can run it for a long time. It does occasionally make this zapping noise sounds like it a bug zapper but that might be because we have it too close to the wall?

Bought it year ago never had a chance to use it til now. Had allergy and this is when I thought I will start! Used it for 2 weeks ! DEAD! Makes electral noise and smells a bit funny! DID NOT expect to use it few times and it to die!!! TOTAL WASTE! Not sure how this things actually works, and if it is effective since there are NO realy filter, something that do like one, but def it can not stop anything!
