Canon Japanese Electronic Dictionary - WordTank IDP-700G

This dictionary is more useful than I expected. Though there are not examples for the words, the vocabulary is large and enough for students of japanese or Japanese native speakers who are learning english. The design is beautiful and the cover is really good to protect the screen. Besides the japanese-english-japanese dictionary, there are also japanese-japanese dictionary (kokugo jiten), four-character idiomatic compounds dictionary (yoji jukugo), kanji dictionary in which you can search the ideogram by its part, number of strokes or its reading, a guide for english daily conversation and a calculator. The keyboard is in kana and romaji.It's clear this dictionary is intended for Japanese native speakers, but Japanese language learners can enjoy it for study or a quick search in a practicising way. However, the lack of examples and a more detailed definitions for words can be frustrating for those who look for a more complete dictionary. At anyrate, I strongly recommend this dictionary because of its useful design and its quick word search for those who look for a simple, but practicing product.

This is difficult to use for beginners. It's not super intuitive and is better for intermediate level Japanese learners in my opinion.

This would have been five stars if the delivery wasn't such an issue. It was waaayyy over its arrival estimation, in fact what I ordered wouldn't have even arrived if I hadn't contacted the seller. They replied quickly and sent me another one free of charge. What could have been a 3 star rating changed to four due to their amazing service.The product itself is exactly what I was hoping for. Its easy to use and even has a cover. If you're advancing in Japanese and want something quicker than opening a dictionary, this is it. (This product is not for beginners.)

This is a clever little item, no doubt about it. Note however that it is of decidedly limited use to an English speaker who's trying to learn some basic Japanese. English words that you enter will bring up a lot more kanji characters than Japanese words phonetically spelled in hiragana. It's not truly a two-way dictionary, it's a dictionary designed for Japanese speakers who are learning English.It would be great to have one of these primarily designed for native-English speakers, which accepted and presented Japanese words entirely in hiragana.

This was a Christmas Gift for my granddaughter who is teaching herself Japanese. We were surprised to see that the instructions were ALL in Japanese. Product is good but it would have been helpful to have something written in English.

Great for this price. Easy and fast, better than printed if you know the reading of the word. Comes with protective lid.

It's great. I'm still learning and playing around with it but it has already jumped me translate so much!

Vom Aufbau und Umfang ist es zwar nicht ganz so wie das Erzeugnis mit dem anderen C, aber es hilft auch weiter und erfüllt seinen Zweck.

It is good dictionary from cost x performance point of view. However, I would like to get a more advanced dictionary, but I understand that would cost much more.
